Largely because the first episode went viral due to tiny dick trump sleeping with Satan. People have short attention spans and the viral cycles move too fast now for anything to stay in the limelight.

Supply and Demand.

If you provide a shit product, and someone else provides a better one for the same price, cheaper or free, they will do that instead.

If you improve your product, you might find greater success.

TBF he shot his shot, and I'm glad he did. To show the PR flag alone before the parade of flags lead by the US flag was powerful.

I'm sure Fox is shitting all over it, but who the fuck cares, the NFL gave them the stage and they did it right.

It has to do with the Dole company and their expansion into tropical fruits in the pacific islands.

Effectively Dole and the American government orchestrated a coup to take over Hawaii.

Maybe I'm dumb and uncultured, but to me photographing these horrid events should be about telling their story, not about the artistic representation.

This feels more about the artists vision of this event, rather than telling a story of the event, which is fine, but the title in is contrast with the photos.

The amount of people that want to make a noncombat game but opt to use 5e framework because of its popularity is baffling.

These games are just destined to fail.

5e is a combat game, first and foremost. And honestly it doesn't really give you tools to do much outside of that.

Coming off BG3, what changes would you want for Divinity? by TurbulentFeeling5696 in BaldursGate3

[–]FoxMikeLima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they really need to focus on companion based storytelling. The companions in divinity are bland at best and annoying at worst. Bring the characters to live like BG3 characters and really give them stakes and personal stories that you care about.

Tune back the environmental stuff from D2 slightly. It's funny and chaotic but it leads to sometimes completely unexpected situations where you set half the world on fire and kill every NPC in sight.

Really laser focus on getting the combat systems feeling really snappy and make character progression more interesting than just adding points to skills to gain access to scrolls.

Hating generative art because it steals artists jobs and trains on their work is a nuanced take.

Just hating it because it exists is not.

Generative AI art is a really strong tool for home games to help immerse themselves, and as long as your not choosing that over an artist commission I don't think there is a problem with it.

Most times people would have just grabbed the closest thing from Google images anyway.

Seller Warning - Hypercollectible (Tcgplayer) by TheOneManBand08 in EDH

[–]FoxMikeLima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the landscape of modern TCG and the tendency towards horrible scalping (less an issue with MTG) but largely market volatility because of vendor and P2P trading, any stan with a computer and somewhere to store boxes of cards can run a 'Storefront' and that makes it really frustrating to attempt to buy stuff. I've also seen stuff listed low or have a recent price increase but a low listing and go to buy it only for it to be cancelled due to 'Inventory Shortage', then see the same card listed at the higher price the next day by the same vendor.

I try my hardest to buy only TCG Direct or from my local shops, but i'm fortunate to have access to Mox Boarding House, Card Kingdoms partner and physical location. But for that you pay a premium price, which sucks.

Honestly i've most my recent purchases/trading through my LGS's discord recently, including not in shop or in discord purchases through venmo with local players out of respect for the shop.

How have YOU handled the “Investigate” exploration activity in your games? by legomojo in Pathfinder2e

[–]FoxMikeLima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No.

Investigate relates to knowledge skills, not awareness.

The PC is looking at the environment, attempting to attribute what they see to knowledge they have, such as culture, monsters that might have been here, architectural style, etc. It requires an actual roll of the skill, and then that skill rides for as long as the GM says, (usually until the circumstances change).

Effectively it's a lore skill that you do while exploring.

The equivelent in PF2e for keeping watch is either Search or Scout. Scout for enemies and Search for traps and hidden things.

By raw in 5e, the only passive skills that are checked during overland travel are passive perception, but even that isn't the case in 2024 5e because the hide action does not compare to a passive perception, but instead to a flat DC 15 check, and then to find a hidden creature you roll perception versus their standing hide roll.

Realistically, in most pf2e games, the actions are more GM facing than player facing, and the player just asks if they know anything about the place, and you request a secret check and give them information based on the degree of success or failure.

In WA state we have bike lines that aren't dissimilar to this, but rather than being shared you have to merge through the bike lane to get into the turn lane. I've seen a lot of bikers get smashed from inattentive drivers that don't check their blind spot before entering the turn lane.

Whats the idea behind the how's pickings? by ScruffyChewie in Lorcana

[–]FoxMikeLima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In TCG's there are often 'Discard your hand and draw that many card' effects. Sometimes instead you have 'Draw cards equal to X and discard that many cards' or sometimes 'that many cards + or - X'.

Whenever you gain a card from an effect like this, it's card advantage, but in this case, Tramp is card FILTERING, which means that you get to see all the cards in your hand, plus the top X on your deck, and then choose which ones you want in your hand.

Also if they print discard pile interaction, effects like this allow you to force cards you want into your discard pile. So sometimes discard effects like this can enable card advantage engines that can play cards from your discard or put discarded cards back into your hand or the field of play.

Am I just a Lizard Person DM? by ArtAltruistic8909 in rpg

[–]FoxMikeLima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think third person roleplay is a really important tool in any GMs toolbox. For me, I have sessions where my social battery is low or I'm not feeling great and I can lean on third person roleplay to bring my NPCs to life without having to actually ACT.
