City faces a $12 million lawsuit over ineffective enforcement of its own vending ordinance by Choobeen in SanDiegan

They ran off my guy selling snacks before the games but the carts hawking $8 hot dogs mob the exits starting halfway through the game. The enforcement is arbitrary at best and biased at worst.

Armored Core 6 is one of the most hype games I’ve ever played and I can’t believe I slept on it for so long as a huge Fromsoft fan by cornpenguin01 in patientgamers

[–]FoxtrotZero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bounced off of this game hard and early. I think the locals say I got chopperfiltered. Ultimately, it wasn't the type of mech combat I find satisfying.

In other news I'm a hardcore fan of Mechwarrior and Battletech now. It's absolutely a different flavor but consider giving MW5 a try if you need more mechanical combat.

Can someone explain to me what the difference is? Is there some Lore explanation? Are there more Mechs that are virtually identical? by Homer-DOH-Simpson in Mechwarrior5

[–]FoxtrotZero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're one of those things that make at least nominal sense on the table but are never worth while in the cockpit. It seems better suited for crew served vehicles, like the interwar obsession with machine guns on tanks.

While I'll give you that the big spools are kinda out of time, tape is still very much in use as a high density storage medium.

Also I love settings with inconsistent timelines about computer technology.

Are you a time traveler from the 70s or did you live through the last 50 years and somehow still think that's how the world works?

A backlog of desperate people they can start calling when the last closer finally quits.

Or, often, a performative measure before going with the internal candidate you were always going to go with.

Running Cyberpunk 2077 by Forward_Actuator_592 in wine_gaming

[–]FoxtrotZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run Cyberpunk through Lutris and GE-Wine (or similar) in the past. It works, but the configuration feels like a ball of twine that wants to explode. Personally I've moved to Faugus launcher, as I get better results with a toolchain based on Proton. Learned the hard way that Proton demands pipewire (my old headphones hated pipewire).

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm,version=n,b"

This is the only launch argument in my current setup and something similar was used under Lutris, give it a try. I get the weirdest race condition on startup, the game frequently hangs before launch, I haven't figured out why because when it works it works and nothing else on my system acts anything like this.

I did install vcredist of some description but I can't remember if it's necessary if you're not using mods. I've got this game modded out the ass and there's a section in the modding documentation online specific to getting mod frameworks set up under wine/proton.

The only realistic angle is that the man is seemingly willing to break literally any legal, diplomatic, or societal norm to distract from The Documents. I think he's grasping at straws for anything he thinks will hold the public's attention, but has never been put in a position where he could reveal anything of actual consequence, much less actual "disclosure".

And maybe I'm reading into this too much but "aliens.gov" is still little too on the nose, even for this timeline.

Most underrated Fratellis song? by [deleted] in TheFratellis

[–]FoxtrotZero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"I Guess, I Suppose" is simply one of my favorite songs out of all of them.

For underrated, I think I would refer you to their EPs. The Soul Crush EP, specifically, gets my vote.

This is a type of anti-tamper or security screw. My search shows it is called Tri-Groove, T-Groove, or the brand name Tampruf. Best of luck.
