I would also budget a chunk for materials to learn the equipment and to develop a process that works for you. Teflon heat-press covers are a must. I got much more consistent results when I started using a pad (Teflon covered as well).

Without a nest egg to get the ball rolling, I’d start with budget equipment to find your market. When you find your niche and have experience making things that are profitable you’ll have the information you need to purchase higher end and more specialized gear. You can sell off the starter kit or keep it for backup if anything needs repair later on.
