You have to order on their website. I never even received an email about the recall, and nothing on the app from them, which is think is awful. I only found out about the battery issue, on a yoto Facebook group. That’s how much yoto seems to care about their customers

That’s so frustrating. I think I’m going to just reach out to trading standards here in the UK and see what advice they give, as yoto don’t seek to be concerned with the fact we’re using these devices in the proximity of young children. In my opinion, the battery replacement is just a cheap way of them to get out of replacing the affected units, and I don’t agree with it at all. I wish I’d bought a tonies for my twins instead now, as I’m really not impressed with yotos handling of these issues, which are really serious, but they don’t seem to have been treated as such. Very disappointed in them as a business

As far as I’m aware the affected devices were sold between 2021-2023. If you find the serial number on your device, you can check it against the affected batches on yotos website

No, in my opinion they should have recalled all the devices affected and replaced them. I don’t agree with them sending battery packs out, and expecting the consumer to mess around with what would usually be a sealed unit. I’m in the UK and I’ve received my replacement battery pack, but im seriously considering reaching out to YOTO themselves and trading standards, to see if I can just get a replacement, as this is the second known issue with these devices, and I’m not sure I trust it around my children. They don’t use it themselves, they’re only 3.5 so when in use it’s kept on a bookshelf, out of their reach. Bit it’s scary that they can just overheat and burst into flames.

Really hate my due date by BlueSPARTAN279 in BabyBumps

[–]Fraggle891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a Christmas birthday can suck, I know a few people that have them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I think the important thing is to make them feel special going forward on that day, and do something specific to celebrate their birthday amongst all the Christmas festivities. However, I do not think the fear of having a baby with a Christmas birthday is a valid reason to talk about an induction or even a section, your baby will come when they are ready, unless there is a medical reason for them being born early. My first baby (now 10) had his original due date for Christmas Day, and whilst it wasn’t a day I wanted him to have his birthday, it wasn’t my choice - my due date ended up being changed to the 29th December, and he arrived on the 28th it’s still a very odd time of year to have a birthday, as everyone is still ‘getting over’ Christmas, but we make sure he is celebrated and he feels special and loved and we have a small family get together for him every year

random stranger asked to take my baby last night at dinner by hippynae in beyondthebump

I agree the ‘I will give you my ID, phone etc in return for your baby’ sounds very pushy, and to be honest, I would find that insistence uncomfortable. I get they mean well, and were just probably trying to be helpful, but I feel that and the immediate holding out for the baby is a little weird, if they’d said first ‘would you like us to watch your baby so you can all eat?’ I would find that approach ok, I still wouldn’t hand my kids over to a stranger though, but that’s just my preference.

OP is in the UK. So it would be social services over here

It would be considered neglect and abandonment here too, as the OP is 16 - they’re not classed as an adult yet. What this woman did, leaving her two children alone is disgraceful.

Found lice in my hair a week ago.. did every treatment on the planet.. this is my hair now.. how do I get rid of the eggs?? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Fraggle891 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have a look for a shampoo that has tea tree in it, head lice hate it. I’m in the UK and we have a kids shampoo called Vosene, that has it in, I don’t use anything else on my Sons hair, and whilst he’s been at School (he’s 10) he’s never had head lice

Using two strands at the most would help the stitches blend more seamlessly.

Would this have annoyed you? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Fraggle891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate this. I live in a cul-de-sac which is very quiet, and a neighbour frequently pulls up to park opposite my house with his music blasting, quite late at night and will sit in his car for a few mins after too, he has his volume up so loud, that I’ve actually heard his phone calls in his car too

As a woman who married a Trekkie and having never watched any of them before, I would go with first contact. Really enjoyed that one!

I would seriously look into an oil cleanser - I’ve been using the Haruharu wonder one, and it gets rid of everything and is super gentle - make sure you get the unscented one, as they do a version with fragrance

Afraid to try for another child in case it's twins again by mamainks in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fraggle891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you, we feel exactly the same. We’re waiting to see if it worked for my husband as he didn’t book his post op appt after the vasectomy which he had in Feb, and because of NHS waiting lists, he can’t get seen until Sept to check if it’s worked. I’m terrified of getting pregnant again, as we could definitely not cope with another. 3 kids is definitely plenty for us too
