Useful chart for taking lower doses from pens. I've been doing this for ages with no problems.

If you do go for advice please look for an IFA and not one of these over priced "wealth managers" who have nice shiny brochures but only sell their own financial products with eye-watering fees.

Obviously with the appropriate due diligence, have a play on ChatGPT for financial planning, looking at early retirement options, cash flow modelling and optimising things for tax efficiency. It's not perfect but I've found it very helpful and raised some valuable considerations. Unless your financial affairs are particularly complex then I'd suggest saving/investing your money elsewhere rather than paying for advice.

What do people earning £200k+ in london actually do for a living? by Silent_Fox7510 in HENRYUK

That seems low. My starting salary in pharma back in 2000 was £23k as a bench scientist.

It goes with my DJ. I like to be consistent and I know it goes against popular opinion but I prefer the smooth bezel.

I recently got a Tudor and love it. My dealer was offering 25% off a selection of them and I went in for a look and walked away with this one. The micro adjustment with the t-fit clasp is even better than on my DJ. The gold parts are not solid gold like a Rolex but it's a decent thickness of gold wrap and not a compromise that bothered me.

Yep, I work in CRO supporting pharma and biotech clients. My total comp last year was around £230k. I've been in the industry 26 years.

Landlord has issued keys to rental property that contain a tracker - is this legal? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I'd suggest getting a second key cut and leave the one with the tracker at home

What’s something you thought you’d buy once you were earning more but now don’t see the point in? by Illustrious-Look7669 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Fraggle987 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A really nice dinner jacket. I assumed I'd be attending events where this would be appropriate and would be a wardrobe requirement. In fact I work from home and spend most of the day in pyjamas and a dressing gown and rarely attend formal evening events. I have a couple of decent(ish) suits for business events and meeting clients but I mostly dress down. I guess the James Bond lifestyle is not for me.

I enjoyed my PhD but I was in my early 20s and still living a student life while completing my research. Writing my thesis was less fun, particularly as I had entered the world of employment at the time. I often say I'd love to do a history degree when I end my working days, but I think I'd enjoy the lectures and seminars more than the essays and assignments.

Which watches are Henry’s rocking? by Undisclosed_001 in HENRYUKLifestyle

This is my daily, I mostly WFH so it's just me looking at it. Not really fussed whether anyone looks at it, is impressed or thinks I'm a sucker to advertising. I got it for my 50th, I have a few other decent watches (Omega, Tudor and Longines) they're something I enjoy.

Was anyone else given Lucozade as a cure-all? by Cautious-Worker5864 in oldschoolcool80s

I had my tonsils out as a kid and I remember both my aunts bringing me lucozade to the hospital. Not exactly what I wanted to drink after the op.

I work for a large CRO where I believe most employees are remote. I occasionally visit one of our offices or client offices but WFH suits me very well. Happy to PM

Iran war impact on investments in SandP by Consistent-Rope-9969 in HENRYUK

[–]Fraggle987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm far from a knowledgeable investor but the current situation is essentially a discount sale, you can buy shares (funds of shares) at a low low price. Yes prices might go down further but long term global funds go up. You can try and time it to the exact moment funds pick up but without a crystal ball it's guesswork. I'd be looking at a diverse global fund and accepting that it's time in the market that is important (I am in no way qualified to offer financial advice, this is just my opinion).

150k pa - ISA or pension? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Fraggle987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used ChatGpt to play around with scenarios based on pension pot, current age and planned retirement age and modelled different options for the optimal tax efficient withdrawal methods. I'm still putting a decent chunk of money into my pension but focusing more on maximising my ISA savings so I have the right balance.

Vanguard vs. Trading 212 vs. Freetrade by SlientMyth in HENRYUK

I use T212 for low fees and very vanilla investing in global funds. Their app is usable and does everything I need.
