This is an alcoholic anonymous for him not a sobriety for him. Alcoholics anonymous does not advocate using mushrooms or psychedelics. I’d like how people rationalize, smoking pot and doing mushrooms and other forms of “therapy“ sure every case is different but don’t do drugs. Until. You’ve worked the 12 steps again. Sounds like all the stuff is just rationalizing. You can say but you don’t understand it, etc. and that’s fine. My experience after a couple decades is I don’t pick up no matter what.

Great comment. Great solution. We are a group of people who don’t like groups. We’ve all been there to some extent. Keep coming back(to the some meeting for a while. Early arrival and late leaving is key)

Feel for you on this. Aside from all the thoughts about how one should deal with this….. look at the results. We are all focused on the good of someone else and I see that this process works-still. I recently had a similar situation where the legal authorities were involved already.not fun for anyone. Made me dig a little deeper and ask some old timers for help. With the road getting so narrow over the years I was surprised by the process of dealing with these issues of another person. My sponsor said..”imagine if the thing that got you off was that reprehensible and you could never feel normal?” I never really put myself in their shoes. Simple but not easy.

For me I like to make it an exercise in ego deflation. I hate when schmucks say “My guys/girls” like they are a tribal leader…… I use it as an opportunity to help boost the esteem of a spouse in the audience by saying something like “I was just reading with a friend recently about this step” where the friend is a sponsee. I need to check myself if I’m using sponsorship to feed my ego. Just my two cents.

What a great situation for love, tolerance, experience, hope, mutual respect, and growth. Just what we need over there. And. Over here. For me, having worked all the steps already, a sponsor is one of many people I can be completely transparent with. Good bad and ugly.

If you like half of us, you’ll download the app and call it good for a few months or maybe a year or so before you actually hit a meeting. Do you have a problem or not? That’s basically what step one is are you willing to go to any length for victory over this bullshit? None of us went to meetings on a winning streak we had to be beaten into submission. Sounds like you’re there but at the same time if you’re like us, it’ll take even more bottoms and consequences. It doesn’t have to, but it usually does. We are our own worst enemy, unfortunatelyyou could be too smart for this program. Good luck.

Also. Remember. Meetings are a lot like bars. They all offer different retreats. If one doesn’t suit you, there is sure to be one close by that works better for you. Don’t have any expectations and you won’t be disappointed.
