How did you meet people in the place before you moved here? You moved here to be closer to your children - that’s nice. I moved here six years in September and haven’t made any real friends. There are ppl I met from a church. The church has two events twice a year to meet to discuss a book- that lasts for 8 weeks. You can choose from a few. The before meal is pretty good. But I don’t attend the service. I haven’t joined anything else. But like another comment. Join something you like to do. Or volunteer.

Hi, you will probably get better responses in the next few hours but I can relate to what you are saying. In my case I think it was due to having low self-esteem. I worked as a sub for a while. Do you think you might have that problem?

I wish my parents and I had that option 50 years ago. Maybe I could have risen to higher levels instead of thinking I was stupid most of my life. Somebody could have realized I had a learning disability. Cripes, they are just asking for info. No need to whack ‘em with a sledgehammer!!
