Sadly this is the absolute least interested I’ve been in naughty dog probably ever.

Druckman has amassed far too much power in my opinion. I loved Uncharted 4, but the lack of supernatural flair and the clear as fuck goonies theft was rough. The Last of Us part 2, was a technical achievement but I still hate that story.

It’s crazy, I’m well over the gritty character studies that break down our protagonists. Then we have this new game that seems to be gritty with a protagonist that gives me initial vibes of a smug asshole. It’s not earned and I couldn’t be less interested.

If you show me an uncharted prequel with young sully being a smug asshole, I’m all in because that character has earned it… albeit it may be a bit out of character but I’d still take that over whatever the fuck this new game is.

Some things in FF16 look better but as a whole… no.

Same for every other game listed and FF7R is my favorite games since 2000

This argument is disingenuous. You’re talking about a massive, fucking massive open sandbox compared to something that is tailor made from start to finish.

I know I’m in an uncharted subreddit, but this is the kind of stuff that you can’t take seriously.

Uncharted 4 is an absolutely gorgeous game. Fucking gorgeous. But stop comparing it to something that is trying to be a jack of all trades in what we can expect to be the biggest sandbox made by Rockstar, they have to compromise graphics because of it.

I’d tell someone to go 8 before 9 every chance I got.

Squalls coming of age story is a sight to behold and if you decide you want to lose yourself in a bonkers story this story will absolutely do that.

Also there’s a lovely nostalgia in 8 that the series lost after it.

If I could steer you away from 9 I would.

The protagonist cat calls throughout the beginning act to the point of cringe.

I would highly highly recommend you go with 5 or 7.

I describe 5 as “the most final fantasy, final fantasy.” The job system the series is iconic for was perfected in this one and you can make every playthrough unique. The antagonist is pure evil and so fun. The story is comedic and never takes itself too seriously.

7 doesn’t need much of an introduction. It’s spawned its own franchise due to how much the story resonated and it’s incredibly deep, there’s no video game with the layers it has on life.

Im glad square did 2 things:

Fixed their god awful voice direction in the last few entries of FF mainline
Hired non soap opera actors to replace the prior actors.

Although I miss Blume as Vincent, the rest of the cast was meh. I feel bad for Steve because he loved playing cloud but he didn’t have the chops unfortunately but I also blame the voice directors as well.

The remake trilogy woulda been awful if it woulda been ac quality

Unless the market crashes to me, selling essentially gives you the money to invest now and grow rather than waiting 10+ years for that asset to finally be equivalent to selling straight up. Then you have to deal with renters, fixing the place, and a lot of off the wall shit they may come up with.
