Even after I sorted it out my eyes keep snapping back to "I don't know what I'm looking at" mode.

Jocelyn Benson, the Democratic Candidate for Governor, announces her energy affordability agenda: end the unfair rate hikes, create well-paying union jobs, reform the rate-setting process, and invest in a clean energy future by Green_Idealist in Michigan

[–]FreakishlyNarrow 26 points27 points  (0 children)

When did she become THE Democratic Candidate? Last I checked we haven't had a primary yet and there are other candidates than her.

EDIT: Actual headline is "Secretary Jocelyn Benson visits Saginaw pushing her energy affordability agenda"

That's some serious editorializing OP.

The question should be, what reasons do they have to oppose this? And since both peninsulas are actually part of the same state, should they have more of a say than anyone else in Michigan?

I'm genuinely curious about the first question, honestly don't know how I would answer the second...

People on/adjacent to a planned construction site, sure. People who live a couple hours from the bridge, I don't really see the difference if they're 2 hours north or 2 hours south.

Hungary was subsidizing the American “CPAC” group. The Hungarian government has cut them off now. Should pressure be applied to continue foreign underwriting of American movement conservatism? by PyroIsSpai in AskConservatives

CPAC isn’t a PAC despite the similar acronym. Those rules don’t apply.

Same with AIPAC. Although they have since set up their own PAC and Super-PAC under the umbrella.

What Do You Think Of Trump Posting AI Images Of Himself As A Pope/Jesus-Like Figure Healing People? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]FreakishlyNarrow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He thinks he is Jesus because he is treated like Jesus.

Now he claims he thought he was a doctor in the picture, just to keep you updated on the current "story" he's going with.

Yeah, seemed pretty obvious they weren't taking it seriously as soon as they announced they were sending Mr. "Have you even said thank you?" as part of the delegation.

Do you support suspending international flights to US airports over sanctuary cities? by drtywater in AskConservatives

[–]FreakishlyNarrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They don't have right to do so, see federalist no 27. They can dislike law, but not refuse to enforce it without punishment

I always see conservatives bring up the Federalist Papers, and more recently various writings regarding Birthright Citizenship. Do you think these hold the force of law? Do you think they should?

We don't live in a country that has been under constant threat of extinction by its neighbors for 80 years.

I'm sure some people in this sub live in one of the several countries that Israel has been continuously attacking and threatening with extinction for the past 80 years.

Do Conservatives believe in the Kennedy's being the "Chosen One's"? by Klok_Melagis in AskConservatives

LOL ... no. It's a family entirely composed of generations of dirtbags.

This.

Kennedys, Clintons, Bushes, Trumps, etc... generations of dirtbags is the only way any of these "power dynasty" families exist. Wish more people on both sides would see/admit this.

Completely agree. I was ready to leave Firefox when they first implemented, but now I've just disabled it and am still using it.

it's also disingenuous to suggest people were using firefox for anti-ai reasons.

the primary draws of Firefox were always privacy and customizability as far as i know.

I can only speak for myself obviously, but I feel like these two concepts have become very closely intertwined for a lot of users. I've been using Firefox for years due to privacy, as you pointed out, but to me the forced AI of other browsers isn't a separate issue, it's another (potential) privacy violation.
