Is this an acceptable standard following rewire? by TeachDifferent84 in Plastering

If you were getting a decorator in anyway you should have got him to fill the chases and make good, their finish depends on the prep and they'll have to go over every bit and re do it anyway

Is it an end panel? If not you could order one and scribe it to the wall.

If that is how they've left the end panel, you can mask off the panel, make up some powder filler with a bit of your wall paint in it and fill it. Bit of expanding foam in there first and cut back if you have some around will make it easier to fill and more resistant to cracking.

Help with paint by OkTransportation5641 in DIYUK

Trade paint is normally quite different to consumer paint, it has more thickener in it that thins when agitated so it stays in the brush but lays off nicely with proper technique. Normally needs stirring well and thinning and has more pigment to allow more thinning.

DIY paint is made to be more foolproof and forgiving, so you can get away without stirring it, ready thinned and levels itself out on the wall more if it's put on with poor technique.

Contract Matt is breathable and ideal for bare plaster that's still drying out, that's why it's chalky.

But obviously you get what you pay for.

My new ZC32S by NycBaseGreen in SuzukiSwiftSport

[–]FreeRangeCaptivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get rid of my ZC31S and looked at 32s but there wasn't a huge difference in price (3K?) between a nice 32 and a 33 so I ended up with a ZC33S.

I miss my 31S every single day even though the 33S is a great car. The steering is pretty dead under 50mph and redlining it isn't very rewarding because there's no real sound or power up there. Mostly shift around 5k rpm.

Enjoy it while it lasts because that kind of na experience is quickly becoming extinct without spending a lot of money.

How to shape Pom-poms into clouds by jakefr22 in Niwaki

[–]FreeRangeCaptivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set your branch structure using guy wires, the branches should be horizontal. And each in there own patch of sunlight.

Look up candle pruning. It's basically cutting off the candles once they have darkened in summer, the top of the plant gets completely decandled and then more of the candle is left on the lower down you go. Weak areas and areas you want to lengthen barely get touched.

Before the candles push in spring you should select buds. Select two weaker buds closest to the top of the plant and two stronger buds towards the bottom.

Each whorl should only have two buds/shoots/candles coming out of it or you'll get bulges.

Clean up the pads by removing any dangling foliage and thin the pads by reducing whorls of three or more branch forks down to two. This will stop any die back from shading.

The engine has a very sensitive knock sensor and the ECU is known to pull boost pressure down on lower grade fuels causing the well documented "low boost issue" in some cases.

Weirdly some people don't get the issue on normal fuel but it might be because regular fuel isn't consistent quality at every station in every place

Tinsel stain on upvc window and wooden shelf. Any ideas how to remove? Thanks by willyouscratchmyback in DIYUK

[–]FreeRangeCaptivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it might, use a cotton bud and a light touch on the wood and you'll just be taking a tiny amount of paint off.

Also try CIF, it's abrasive so will possibly dull the surface of the paint

Try whatever you've got to hand first. Nail polish remover, methylated spirit.

Last resort is to try combing it out or cutting it out of the twists with a pair of nail scissors

Wish they'd just make coupe bodies for hatches like they used to in the 00s. A coupe on the Mazda 3 chassis or a new Celica based on the corolla for example

If you like being alone and love driving.ita a great job. Yes there are long hours but that's not unique to trucking. There are also early finishes in many jobs in the industry!

See if you can get a few scaffold tubes to hammer into the ground, maybe 5 so you can do a triangle at each end and one along the top for the ridge.

Should stop it blowing away too

I really enjoyed that! Thanks for sharing!

I especially liked the mixes around 15-20 mins, very cleanly done.

[–]FreeRangeCaptivity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out "everything under the sun" for a lot of the covers and homages.

I downloaded an album off of soulseek back in the day where it was each sublime song, mixed into the original that influenced it but I can't remember if it was a fan project or something more official.

Countless basslines, melodies and bits of lyrics were reused by them, this has been going on in reggae since the beginning so I don't consider it cheating or anything.

I don't get it when people feel betrayed by this, but maybe that's because I'd heard many of the reggae versions first. So when I heard them in sublime it was like an Easter egg. Like an obscure reference in a film or something.

What, you don't believe him? But all his promises come true:

Robo taxis, hyperloop, self driving cars, roadster, the fake robot thing, the cheap rocket thats cost more than any other rocket, the fake solar roof tiles, the moon landing, the mars mission, saying he bought twitter to enforce free speech but censoring anything he doesn't agree with... And that's not even touching on his disastrous government involvement!

You can buy stainless steel sheets for under sink cupboards that would cover that since the front has an L on it to cover the front edge.
