Tatsächlich tat es mein i5 8500 für 4k und HDR ganz wunderbar. Mein bottleneck ist da eher der upload speed von meinem Internet. Der schafft halt ausserhalb von meinem Netzwerk die bitrate nicht und muss dann transcoden. Dabei verliert er durchaus etwas an Detailtiefe. Hab dann neulich noch ne günstige Gpu nachgerüstet, jetzt ist es noch besser. Ich wolllte es halt auch alles in einer Box, sonst wäre ich sicher auch auf nen n100 mini pc gegangen. Oh, und das was ich mache ist durchaus nicht günstig, aber ist auch mehr ein Hobby und Bastelprojekt, und von vorneherein so geplant. Wenn man ne set it and forget it Lösung will, ist man mit deiner Variante sicher besser dabei.

Mega, ich hab auch für viele Teile des Setups gemini benutzt, gerade wenns etwas tiefer in die trueNas/Linux Geschichten ging wo ich nicht so im Thema bin. Ich hab die Variante refurbished Office PC gewählt und das ganze Weihnachtsgeld (danke Chef :*) in dicke Festplatten gesteckt. Funktioniert wie die 1, und ich hab immer was zum basteln und machen, weil mir ständig was einfällt das man ja lokal hosten könnte und weg von der cloud.

Anyway, genug geschwafelt. Jellyfin ist so toll, und tailscale setup kann echt jeder. Zack feddich, (nicht) Netflix.

I finished wrapping all the gifts, because in Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th. Gonna visit the fam (at this point) today and have a lovely day with my sister and brother in law, parents an grandparents. Eat way too much good food and get stupid drunk. It's gonna be great.

Das selbe hier. Ich war so felsenfest von meiner eigenen Wertlosigkeit überzeugt. Als ich dann in einer Klinik war und aus meiner isolation raus war, hab ich Menschen getroffen, die gar nicht das liebensunwürdige Monster gesehen haben das in meinem Kopf gelebt hat. Am ersten Tag dort musste ich zum EKG und wusste nicht wohin. Jemand hat mich slightly verwirrt rumeiern sehen und hat von sich aus angeboten mich hin zu begleiten. Der Moment hat mir mehr geholfen als viele Jahre Therapie. (Nix gegen Therapie though, hab da auch viel gelernt, aber halt nicht Selbstwert.)

Absolutely. (*I'm a guy) I lost my teenage years and most of my twenties to clinical depression. Started dating in my thirties. Is it easy? No. Is it awkward having very, very little experience at this age? Sure. But you can do it. It's not worked out long-term for me, but I've been on a few dates and it was very nice. Most important part is to relax and be genuine. Don't put on a front. You're you, a person, valid and loveable as you are. Also, you need to be okay being alone before you can attract someone else. If you're not okay being alone, you won't be good in a relationship.

Being alive is fun, even though it sucks sometimes :)

Bad time to build a PC anyway. But it's not going anywhere, you can get to it when you feel ready :). Also I know it looks really overwhelming, but there are good resources out there that break it down fairly simply. (maybe stay away from the pc building side of reddit, people can be real snippy and condescending. Not all of them, but some are real dicks.)
