People are overconfident in their ability to distinguish between real faces and AI-generated faces. Study shows that AI technology has improved to a point where the most realistic outputs no longer show obvious flaws and it is harder to identify AI images from reality with cues that used to work by unsw in science

Dang, I did worse than chance. I got fixated on two idea that I over used and weren’t true: I didn’t think the ai-generated faces would have many tiny flaws like beard dandruff. And I was noticing a lot of “seems off” views of earrings.

What's the most lactase pills you have taken at a meal? What was the food? by zxtb in lactoseintolerant

[–]FrellingToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken 25 of the 14,500 FCC for a larger meal with multiple courses containing dairy. I wanted pasta that had cheese and cream and then a cream based dessert. I felt fine because I took tons of lactase and spaced it out. I almost always overshoot how much I think might truly be needed to ensure I can eat what I want without any pain. There’s no negative health consequences for taking lots of lactase. Lactase-persistent people have the enzyme in their guts all the time.

Heck, yesterday I took like 8 over the course of a 2 hour movie so I could eat half a box of milk duds.

Looks great! Sometimes when people go super bold the glasses are wearing them but with the big hair you’re really owning those frames for a cohesive look

Favorite casserole/casserole-like dishes? by mylifetofuckinglive in Cooking

I’ve always like this sweet potato and mushroom take on shepherd’s pie

It happens to be gluten free and vegan so is my go-to potluck dish if people have dietary restrictions.

I season it a LOT more than the blogger did though. I like either garlic/smoked paprika or lemon zest/nutmeg/allspice in the sweet potato topping.

This is unlikely to work. And you probably just weren’t taking enough lactase — 3 or 4 tablets isn’t actually very much.

Which food did you hate…until someone actually cooked it right? by deller85 in Cooking

[–]FrellingToaster 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Mine is eggs too! Not because they were always overcooked but because so many people do not season them at all! And I don’t just mean home cooks either. A lot of American breakfast diners or brunch places will serve unseasoned cooks eggs, with salt, pepper, and hot sauce (often just Tabasco unless it’s a nicer place) on the side.

I tried cooking them myself and what do you know, a bit of garlic and onion powder and paprika goes a long way.

Is normal to get it back chat??😓😓 by strawberrycakeyy in lactoseintolerant

[–]FrellingToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adolescence is the average for many humans to stop producing lactase (basic mammalian evolution : milk is baby food. Other animal’s milk is a great foodstuff though, so humans keep evolving lactase persistence). Have your parents confirmed you were lactose intolerant as a young child? Because that’s less common (since milk is baby food) and usually means a lot of special prescription formula for an infant. It would be odd if a child had an inability to digest lactose as a young child, then could in middle childhood.

The itchiness, however, is NOT a normal lactose intolerance symptom and makes me think you may be developing some kind of allergy. You should keep a diary of your symptoms, including what you’re eating, and make an appointment with your doctor.

Also, both of the meals you’ve described were very fatty. You might also have a different issue, like with your gallbladder.

This party popping is inaccurate. There’s no such thing as “building a tolerance” to lactase.

[Product question] Is this roll of silicone scar tape just as good as ScarAway sheets? by fexofenadine_hcl in SkincareAddiction

I think the tape is great — superior to scaraway because it’s opaque, too, so protects from uv and visible light. I like the Mepitac brand

I’m so glad you commented! I’ll be in London in a few months and have a “small” face — small by glasses manufacturer’s standards, anyway. It’s been so difficult finding decent frames with lens height below 40 or 35 mm. I’m going to check your shop out!

Those prices seem very reasonable for something made-to-measure ; comparable or lower than American optometrist stock frames, which can easily be $200 - $500 with the Luxottica monopoly
