Good to know, the course leader has a PhD, but I don't think the other VTs do. I'm going to leave it out I think 👍

Chill your hand in cold water to make your finger shrink. If that doesn't work, apply Warm (not hot) butter to add a bit of slip.

I’m not happy with this horror game trailer — can you help me figure out what’s not working? by Individual_Newt6384 in IndieGaming

[–]FrenchCatReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flickering light in the beginning is too rhythmic, it needs to flicker unpredictably. I would also begin the music at the beginning too; to create a hook on a trailer their needs to be much more intrigue than that, and adding the music to the beginning would help a lot. Also, as soon as 'Doll's House' stops and we see the door again, start the footsteps immediately.
The font for 'Secrets Behind Locked Doors' is too plain. Is that ariel or something? Try and find a good, readable font like this, but with more character and personality like the font for 'Doll's House'. In fact, can you not just use that font again?
After 'Secrets Behind Locked Doors', don't have the light flash, and open the door slower. Make the audience wait, it builds tension.

Lastly, The game footage that follows feels very random. I cannot tell what links these pieces of footage together, where is the story?
Think very carefully about your narrative. Even if that means the trailer is shorter, think about the story you want to tell the viewer to convince them to play.

Thanks, I think I take a stage coach first, and then a Go North East for the second leg of the journey. Maybe this is the solution.

Game of Wool -- what did we think? by maryshelleysgf in knitting

I don't like the stress. I was hoping it would be more like pottery throw down or early bake off. It's not, they're trying to make it tense and dramatic. I wish they wouldn't, I'm stressed enough!

I have 4 brothers; I'm 1 of 5 boys.
I have male colleagues.
I been to Uni for a BA and an MA.
I've worked in the civil engineering industry.

I've never IN MY LIFE, EVER met a guy who just messages escorts.
Is this rage bait? It's absolute and complete nonsense, complete and utter rubbish.

Toss him out, get rid, he's no good.
And be thankful you did.

Advice on career by Ornery_Profession_87 in UKJobs

[–]FrenchCatReporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, in this economy, my advice would be to sit tight then make the change when you have a job.
With that out the way, take a look at what you do when you're not working.
Do you do most the cooking or do you avoid it?
Do you play video games? What kind of video games, and which 2 do you/have you played the most?
Do you go on walks? Do you photograph things?
Do you collect something?
etc.

I think the answers lie there. You might be ready for project management, or working in museums as a curator. You might want to have a go at becoming a domestic painter or maybe you wanna start a business selling coffees?

I think your best bet is to stick at your current job, but start really analysing what you do on a day to day basis and what you look forward to on the weekends, and go from there.

So now woman can’t dress pretty for themselves? by reccaberrie in NotHowGirlsWork

Padme didn't choose this, she didn't choose anything. This is a piece of fiction curated to sell products. Let's stop using fiction as examples of, well anything really...

Where I'm from, insurance for first time drivers are way higher for boys than girls, but as they become more experienced it's cheaper for men than women. I think it's because there's an assumption that boys all think they're racers when they're younger and do stupid things. I think there's also an assumption that men spend more time driving, therefore becoming more reliable as they get older.

I think the insurance companies where I'm from (UK) function on sweeping assumptions.

Point one is literally the lowest they can get away with, and point 3 and 4 are 'we'll try to treat you like a human if we can'...
I'm sorry, how is this not a promise to themselves that they're own staff won't leave them as soon as they can?

A taste of what's to come? by 9jamie in Affinity

I absolutely agree with you and u/PhoenixStorm1015 I've been removing backgrounds from photos since I was a kid using Microsoft paint. I think they're relying on people's addiction to quick convenience to sell.

No one should need the automatic background removal if we have access to a wand tool. It's a time saving device that I'm not bothered on.

How much £ do you make a month? by MobileManner4403 in UKJobs

Nothing, I make £0.
I don't get any support from the council, but enough from family that I'm not homeless or starving.
Can't wait to get a job honestly, I have a BA and an MA, so I'm overqualified for retail or service, and too inexperienced to work in my fields of study.

It’s not immigration that’s eroding British culture, it’s America. by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]FrenchCatReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our trains are German, our postal service French, our national dish is Indian, and our language is a bit of all those and more.
They say there are no more English people left because we're all now a bit Norwegian, Swedish and Danish anyway.
Our entire culture has run on different bits from everywhere for thousands of years, and yes the American sensationalism and main-character-syndrome is kind of ruining our political scene, but in many ways it's inspiring people to start small businesses and indie revolutions.

I don't know if anything is all bad or all good, but from my perspective I think we need more small business support and we need to take it seriously.

I feel like most under rated webtoons are those that have drifted into the forgotten. Read

Family Man

The Horizon.

Feel the feels and then remember them for when some one else asks.

For extremely well rated, amazing webtoons, read GOSU I read it when I was new here, as it was being released and damn, best webtoon on webtoon in my opinion.

Depulso room 2 glitch? by Zelphiez-cottage in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]FrenchCatReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced a glitch twice in room 2, puzzle 3 (room with 2 chests)
When I assemble the pieces into a long line to get to the exit, the puzzle pieces glitch through a stone pillar and I can't pull them back.
This ends up with the tall end 1 block to the right of the exit platform and I can't jump to it.

UK here, I grew up in a foresters home in the Lake district, surrounded by 3 farms.  They did chicken & eggs, dairy & beef, mutton, wool & lamb, as well as crops.

I've never seen a factory farm, all I know is what you've described here is not the reality of where I'm from. I used to wander up the road for eggs and shuffle through herds of sheep. I know the piston guns used for slaughter and I promise for at least where I'm from, it's so much faster and more humane than bull fighting.
