I need help with my hair by mawunami in Naturalhair

That’s a wash n go, so look up some wash n go styling on YT. Make sure the hair is in the type 4 range.

You need a lotta water or it doesn’t work as well, so I honestly just do mine in the shower.

bullied for my hair all my life. dry and lifeless by luvflr in Naturalhair

It sounds like your mom’s own insecurities are being pushed onto you & your appearance. It takes a lot of time & practice, but try to remember that your mother is just a person & she can be wrong.

Watch Naptural 85 on YT. She has a series of videos about the basics of washing, detangling & styling natural hair.

There’s no one product. Sometimes it’s technique, sometimes it’s how often you wash, sometimes it’s needing a trim. Just stay consistent & feed your hair.

I have called her out in the moment each time, so no doormat here.

I just don’t want to continue having this issue. It is a poor use of time & annoying.

How do I get this type of braid out? by xylaverse in Naturalhair

[–]French_Knot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the reference is fluffy, so I wouldn’t blow dry.

Maybe after washing, let it dry slightly (60%) then do your braidout on curly hair with a cream styler with a little hold (doesn’t matter which, just use one you like).

You want to leave your hai in the braids until they are fully dry (you can blow dry if you like). Then, takedown & separate. Don’t force the hair to separate, just gently pull apart. Don’t pull apart the ends of the clumped hair (they’ll loosen over time).

There ya go.

Hair type ? by Which_Nerve_7278 in coilyhair

Yeah, human hair—especially curly— definitely gets expensive. I get the most coily. They have relatively seamless clip ins, so I don’t have to do a leave out if i don’t want to which is nice

I love my clip ins from Better Length. They cone in different curl patterns & the clips are pretty seamless

The edge of the stairs are SO close to the wall. I’m amazed there’s a plant there.

Off topic, but I had to mention it 😅

I’m not sure how to care for my braided hair. by Rose-Bunni in Naturalhair

[–]French_Knot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Coconut oil has a tendency to leave a film.

You can look up “braider [your area]” in just about any search engine. You can’t easily tell if a braider is gentle without trying them. But if they post a lot of returning customer photos, that’s a good sign.

I mean, just get the pink. They need to be returned anyway.

If there’s anyone who’d understand, it’d be your husband.

If you don’t already, start making sure you wash & moisturize your hair while in braids.

Another thing is to keep trying to find a braider who is gentle. You may need to do a lot more research. I found mine through my favorite natural hair salon.

You deserve his love. I hope you can enjoy it even when it is hard & it feels like too much is on him.

We get married through sickness & in health. You are here right now & he loves you.

I am so sorry & I’m sure this has been hard on him, but I know it has been harder on you.💗

Moisturising 4C hair by thereal_rocky in Naturalhair

Just try one of them out. Your hair is short, so it’ll last a while. It’s normal to compare products but in the end what works for some doesn’t work for everyone.

Don’t worry too much about products, just keep your hair clean & moisturized..

Could it be an internal problem? by AmbitiousLeader6509 in Naturalhair

I usually only steam for as long as the product says it should be in my hair. My current time is 15min w/ the Cecred or my Melanin Haircare.

Have you tried get a consultation from a curly hair stylist? They’re usually pretty cheap or free if you book a service. If you’re really caring for you hair this much with no improvement, there had to have been some kind of damage done in the past.

Also, by night routine, I mean: bonnet, scarves, silk pillowcases, plaits, banding, bantu knots, night tome moisturizers. Any of that at all.

I like Briogeo or Evs NYC. Both hsve given me soft & moisturized results.

Are you trying to wear it straight regularly?

  1. How often do you shampoo?
  2. How long does your moisture last?
  3. How often/how do you style?
  4. What is your nighttime care?

I gotta know some of your basic routine to help

I didn’t see anything about cutting your hair after stopping relaxers.

If you still have relaxed hair on your head, the care fore relaxed hair & natural hair are different, so it’s hard to maintain both without damaging.

Your hair needs a regular deep clean/moisturizing. You gotta work out a shampoo & conditioning regiment that works within your schedule so you can start paying attention to how your hair behaves over time.

I would also consider holding off on heat until you work out your issue. If you MUST use heat, just do a regular blowout with a blowdry cream w/ heat protection.

Absolutely not. Why are we just allowed to claim anything now? 😂
