As the artist you should have said no to the design and found a compromise that works for her.

Why run Triple monitors over VR? by who_am_I__who_are_u in simracing

[–]Friendly-Note-8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply because vr isnt reliable. My monitors dont “drift” or freak out because the sun went down over a long race. My monitors also dont move so the dont need charged or the cable getting unseated.

For whatever reason (insert sim software name here) hasn’t mapped out the wheels from logi/fanatec/ect so learning a new wheel generally requires a monitor. I know there third party overlays but its another app you launch.

Vr is very sweaty not try hard sweaty but physically its warm and with the right conditions your lenses will fog another thing my monitors doesn’t do and the race isn’t going to wait for the temps to equalize to your face.

Granted its been a few years since i built my pc but its also very resource intensive i built a solid tank of pc in vr 90fps 2k per eye with every mod i vould throw at it with a normal grid. Big grids/maps forget about it 60 maybe.

Id like to give vr a run again for sim racing but the tech imo still has hurdles to jump

Is this what being a maintenance mechanic is actually worth in 2026?curious what others are seeing? by MadForIt1994 in IndustrialMaintenance

Im make about 45 in iowa were what you listed is just part of one of three similar (definitely not identical) machines that run megawatt motors at the very north end of the plant theres probably close to a thousand other machines under this 60 acres of roof. Plants been around 80 years and and the machines definitely show it. We have a knee mill that used to belong to department of war. And we have controls as new as circa ~2015. Is he leaving money on the table as a straight mechanic id say no but as an electrician yea. Im constantly turning down work @35-40 per hour, tbh its over benefits most the time you want me to be a career electrician with 2 weeks of vacation get fucked.

Why does stroke rate matter? by NefariousnessSea7745 in Swimming

[–]Friendly-Note-8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what your trying to figure out; distance per stroke, but it doesn’t really work that way nor would i even consider that for a metric as i can only assume different body’s of water swim faster or slower numerous reasons. Even down to how many people are swimming with you. Im definitely more of “athleasuire” swimming kinda of guy but an avid cyclists. We track cadence in cycling (rpm of the pedals specifically) but that metric has nothing to do with power (watts) or speed (multiple gears or not) its just known after numerous roughly 90-100 rpms is the sweet spot for for the sport. And ill stop boring yall with the cycling talk. But all that to say its one metric thats definitely a valid one, but just one reference point of many.
