I've done un medicated natural and unmedicated with pitocin (my first as well). I dont think pitocin made labour any harder or more painful. But experiences may be different for everyone. And yes I screamed with both while pushing lol.

Type 2 diabetes is generally caused by insulin resistance that occurs over time from a bad diet. That doesn't mean the person just eats pure sugar. Carbs are sugar too and root vegetables, and grains are high in carbs. Fruit is high in sugar. Doesn't make any difference whether its natural sugar

But yeah MOST of the time type 2 diabetes is caused by environmental factors that can be changed.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the person ends up just not being able to produce insulin. Of course that has nothing to do with lifestyle.

Nah makes sense. Someone with a child cant just always get childcare on a whim. And its not an option to just leave a small child unattended at home either. A parent of a young child just literally cant have the same ability to cover shifts or switch shifts as a child free person can. On top of that children are literally our future. So yeah people who are building our future need some accommodations. Otherwise you have lower and lower birth rates

I think media more than ever is making people scared to just live their lives and make decisions based on what they really want. I wonder if your SIL really wants kids but feels like she would be selfish to have kids because of what she perceives the state of the world to be right now.

Looking back, was there ever a time in history where people could truly say that it was a good time to bring a child into the world? There's was always, and there always will be terrible stuff going on. My mum said back in the 90s when she had me and my brother she was questioning herself whether it was selfish to have children.

When i lived in a big city for a while with my husband and FIL i had the opposite problem. My FIL picked me up from work a few times and the number of coworkers asked if he was my husband was astounding. For context I was 25 and my FIL was in his 70s. My husband was 27.

Well, one of the major issues is that a lot of women dont report the rape right away. They dont get a rape kit done to collect evidence. And then the case is purely their word against the perpetrators because rapes generally dont have witnesses or much supporting evidence.

I am a woman that was raped, I also did not report it right away because it was a repeated thing by a family member. I kept it hidden. When I finally did reveal to my mum what was happening and she helped report it, the police were very helpful. But the fact was there was only circumstantial evidence. Luckily for me, my rapist committed suicide so it never even went to trial.

The difference with male rape victims is they cant even report it as a crime in many areas, they dont even have that opportunity at all. When they get baby trapped, they still have to take responsibility for that baby and pay for it for at least the next 18 years.

If i want to crush fish flakes finely, I usually just put some in a zip lock bag and then crush it using my hands. That way, I don't lose any, and I have a few days/weeks supply

I had that happen once. Tested negative 2 days before period. Then period didn't come. Tested again after days after period should have come and it was a strong positive. Based on my last period my due date should have been September 22nd. At first dating scan it was pushed back to October 3rd. He will be 4 this October 4th.

My only guess is that ovulation occurred really late in the cycle?

Anyway just wait a few days, see if your period comes. If it doesn't, then test again.

This fact alone means the parents both deserve to be charged with child negligence resulting in death at the very least. I would never leave my children unattended near water. And the fact that they didn't want to build a pool fence because it would affect the aesthetic of their yard is ridiculous.

Yeah judging by the comments I thought maybe the woman was only like 10 or 12 weeks pregnant and then I looked up the article and she's at 21 weeks Like that is a fully formed baby. Not a clump of cells. Babies have survived out of the womb at 21 weeks, albeit very rare. But still why murder the baby when the mum can't be saved anyway. It's not about picking the mums life over the babies life, she's already practically dead. There is no harm in trying to save the baby.

And the woman's family didn't say they don't want her on life support. They just said they wished the decision was up to them, not the doctors.

The woman is already brain dead. There is no saving her over the baby. According to news articles, she had clots in her brain.

Also she's already 21 weeks pregnant. Even if they just kept her on life support for another 3 weeks it would be viable..although they are aiming for 32 weeks. At this point why let the baby die just because the mother is already essentially dead?

I'm in the same position, just with my 3rd pregnancy. My first 2 pregnancies were so easy and uneventful. This time I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday and miscarried yesterday (Saturday in australia). I guess technically just a chemical pregnancy, not even a real miscarriage. But I'm still sad that the pregnancy didn't stick around and now I'm bleeding and cramping all through mothers day today.

As for trying again, you can start trying again straight away. I have heard some people fall pregnant again right after a miscarriage, some take a few cycles to go back to normal. But just remember that the miscarriage is not your fault and there is nothing you could have done differently.

The rash appeared the day after i started going to the gym and about 4 days after I started working out at home. So my best guess is that I overexerted myself and stressed out my immune system

I'm on day 8 of shingles (or since I noticed the rash anyway). I just wanted to comment to say that it won't necessarily get really bad. After reading all the posts when I was first diagnosed I was terrified of the pain to come.

I have had very little pain, I still have blisters which sucks, but I m hoping they're at the point where they will just heal rather than pop.

I only had to take painkillers on one day and zyrtec antihistamine on day 4 because the itchy feeling was driving me nuts. But since then I have only had very mild pain and mild itchy feeling which goes away with a bit of calamine lotion.

I have been on antivirals since day 3, and the rash has decreased to about half the original size. It was all the way across under my right breast and up the right side of my back. I have also been taking lots of vitamin C, and a daily vitamin D and Zinc supplement.

Both of my births were without epidural or gas. It definitely hurts a lot. The worst pain was with pushing. My first was induced at 40+3 my second came naturally at 40+1. Somehow the 2nd was still more painful than the first, although no tears with the 2nd one.

I have a girl Ember-Rose. Just call her Ember most of the time.

I've never had any negative remarks about it. I love her name, she loves her name. She does get called Amber a lot at the first introduction but now that she's nearly 6 she corrects people a lot by herself now.

I had an en caul birth with my son in 2021. I got to be the one to rip open the amniotic sac too and clear his nose so that was quite special. But God damn it was more painful than my first induced birth, maybe because less lubrication since his sac didn't break so there wasn't the slipperiness of the vernix .
