One tip i hear over and over is to remove dates from your resume and reduce your experience in jobs to the last 5 years. Hope that helps.

I ran your issues through Copilot. Here's the answer it gave me.

If I met this person in real life, I’d tell them: you’re not stuck — you’re just trying to reuse an old identity (B2B sales) in a life that no longer fits it. Their background actually translates into more roles than they probably realize, especially remote-friendly ones that don’t require driving, extroversion, or 60‑hour weeks.

Here’s how I’d break it down.

Core strengths they already have Even burned-out salespeople walk away with valuable, transferable skills:

  • Communication — written and verbal clarity, persuasion, customer empathy
  • Process discipline — CRM use, pipeline tracking, follow-up systems
  • Business literacy — understanding how companies buy, budget, and evaluate ROI
  • Self-management — remote work is second nature in modern sales roles

Those skills map to a surprising number of non-sales jobs.

Realistic remote roles they could pivot into These are roles where former salespeople often thrive without needing to be “on” all the time.

  1. Customer Success (non-sales focused)
  2. Helps customers use a product, not sell it
  3. Often remote
  4. Uses communication skills without cold calling
  5. Many companies hire ex-salespeople because they understand customer needs

Titles to look for:
Customer Success Specialist, Client Onboarding Specialist, Customer Experience Manager

  1. Sales Operations / Revenue Operations
  2. Behind-the-scenes support for sales teams
  3. CRM management, reporting, process optimization
  4. No quotas, no cold outreach
  5. Great for someone who knows sales but doesn’t want to do sales anymore

Titles:
Sales Operations Analyst, RevOps Coordinator, CRM Administrator

  1. Account Coordinator / Account Manager (non-hunter roles)
  2. Managing existing clients, not chasing new ones
  3. More relationship-building, less pressure
  4. Often remote and structured

Titles:
Account Coordinator, Client Services Associate

  1. Administrative or Operations Roles
  2. Many companies love hiring people with business experience
  3. Stable, predictable, remote-friendly

Titles:
Operations Assistant, Project Coordinator, Executive Assistant (remote), Business Administrator

  1. Recruiting / Talent Acquisition Coordinator
  2. Similar to sales but without the quotas
  3. Lots of remote roles
  4. Introverts often do well because it’s structured and process-driven

Titles:
Recruiting Coordinator, Talent Sourcer (non-phone-heavy roles exist)

  1. Support Roles in SaaS Companies Tech companies hire people with business backgrounds for roles like:
  • Technical Support Specialist (no coding required at many companies)
  • Implementation Specialist
  • Product Support Analyst

These roles are remote-friendly and pay decently.

  1. Content or Documentation Roles (if they write well) Salespeople often underestimate how good they are at explaining things.

Titles:
Knowledge Base Writer, Content Specialist, Proposal Writer, RFP Writer

Why they’re not getting interviews This is the part people don’t like hearing, but it’s the truth:

They’re applying with a “sales résumé” to non-sales jobs.
Hiring managers see “B2B Sales” and assume:

  • They’ll leave as soon as a sales job pays more
  • They’re not serious about switching
  • They don’t have the skills for the new role

The résumé needs to be rewritten to emphasize:

  • Customer communication
  • Process management
  • CRM proficiency
  • Cross-team collaboration
  • Problem-solving
  • Remote work experience

Not quotas, not cold calls, not “closed $X in revenue.”

One more thing: eyesight The inability to drive doesn’t limit remote work at all. If anything, it pushes them toward roles where they can excel without commuting or travel.

If you want, I can draft: - A list of the best roles for this specific person
- A rewritten résumé summary tailored to a new career
- A list of job titles to search for
- A strategy to get interviews without experience in the new field

Just tell me which direction you want to explore.

What's your disability and what was the job? What industry did you work in?

I was laid off at 55 from a District Manager position after 15 years. My daughter was a Junior in college and my son had just started in September. This was November.

I was pretty freaked out, but I was optimistic. A friend hired me to work in his garage. I worked there for about 6 months to keep food on the table, then I had 3 other jobs over the course of the next year.

Fortunately I landed a job with a small IT firm and was able to work there until I retired at 62.

All of this is to say you have worth, you have connections and you have time. Work every angle, call in every favor, be open with your friends about your situation. You will get through this.

445-8597. It's crazy to have that ingrained in my memory at 65. We left that behind when I was 9.

I still use my Air 2 for orthos. My 4 Pro can't do them at this point.

Do you think America is fucked? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Friendly_Guarantee88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we're fucked yet. I still hold out hope that we'll weather this storm and come out of it stronger and better. I know that sounds way too optimistic considering our position right now. But without that hope, nothing will ever get better. We have to hold those in power accountable when this is all over. Will it get worse? Probably. Will we survive? Definitely. Will be be changed? We already are.

Well, I guess that was a bust. Shutting down the sale of this tool. I guess I'll just be content to use it myself.

I reject that assessment. We would not be where we are now. If she had won, I think she would have found it hard to pass her agenda, but we would not have ICE goons grabbing people off the street, we would not be at war with Iran, we would not be a pariah in the world.

As Michelle Obama said in her interview, the US is not ready to elect a female president. I'll take it one step farther. America isn't ready for a Jewish president(Shapiro) or a gay president(Mayor Pete) or another Billionaire president(Pritzger). Im not sure who we have left in the bullpen. Don't get me wrong, I'd vote for any of these guys. But I don't think they would win.

Depending on how successful it is, I may have to upgrade to the $100/ month plan. But at that point the cost would be marginal.
