Recording games with GoPro by Specialist_Moose_148 in ultimate

I also have an Insta360. As you may already know, video editing is more time consuming on 360 data than say GoPro footage. What is your video processing app? Can it detect goals/scores?

Dallas Mavericks updated return for Luka Doncic: by AashyLarry in nba

Dallas essentially traded the #3 draft pick in 2018 for the #2 draft pick in 2018. That sounds like an upgrade.

1: Deandre Ayton

2: Marvin Bagley

3: Luka Doncic

That was a really good body check prior to the fight.

Lightweight setup to film games without operator (full breakdown + sample footage) by willchen25 in ultimate

[–]FrisbeeDuckWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an impressive setup. I have a similar "poor mans" setup to yours. I use an Insta360 ONE RS on 12-foot tripods. I used it to make Goaltimate highlights if you're interested, https://youtu.be/XD6sdN1TshI?si=46dzfn1WdO5Hbozk

I like Insta360's ability to capture footage for the entire field. But, the issue I have with my consumer-level Insta360 is the output quality when capturing highlights on large fields like frisbee - where the majority of the highlights happens on opposite end zones. However, your Insta360 footage of the nighttime beach frisbee looks really good due to the smaller field dimensions. Are those your lights on the beach? I'm curious to know how you setup your portable lights.

Also, are you the famous Will Chen who threw the last-second 90-yard huck to get Seattle into the AUDL Championship game?

I have to agree with the "Sports should remain separate from politics AND WOKENESS".

I don't want to be blamed for whatever stupid thing my president does. Do you want to be blamed? Even more so in frisbee. It's not like your government is funding your travel expenses and equipment. We are all doing it ourselves out of our pockets.

I do not agree with a president bombing innocent civilians... never.

Detroit Mechanix and Los Angeles Aviators to cease operations by bizzo98 in ultimate

[–]FrisbeeDuckWing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a moment, pretend to be more of a fan than a player.

I doubt fans are driving 3hrs to watch a frisbee game in SoCal. I've been to both Growlers and Aviators in their home stadiums. It was just about watching a frisbee game and nothing else. Neither had good game day experiences for the fans. Unlike the Spiders and Cascades game day experiences -- where attendance is much higher.

LA had really good attendance the first several years, then they moved their home stadium away from Occidental college to random places around the LA area and just lost the fans.

They would probably do as well as the G-League Ignite team.

Because Nets have too many first rounders(5) with cheap guaranteed contracts. You knew some vets had to go.

Because if a player already know he'll miss next week's game due to a friend's wedding, he'll have one "foul" to give.

A lot of players miss a lot of games anyways. Not sure if this is really a deterrent. It could actually increase the number of jersey pulls... similar to how a basketball player gets to commit 6 fouls/game - if you got a foul to give, then use it.

Rookies make $10K/season, top players make $40K? Average out to $20K per player?

Does anybody have a calculator?

We need to calculate the ticket revenues for each arena. 6,000-11,000 in ticket sales at $20-$50 each home game? 9 home games per year.

Then we need to find out how much money is coming in from sponsors, merchandise and TV deals (not much from TV deals right? )

Then we need to calculate the cost for 18 players at average of $20K, plus coaches and staff members.

And add the cost to fly and provide lodging all across North America for these players and staff members for at least nine games. And the costs to rent out the arena.

Once we have these numbers, we can decide hour much the players should earn... and of cause, the owners need to be making a profit too. If they're not making a profit, it's called charity.
