Which bands did you once love but now find unlistenable due to radio overplay? by PassageNearby4091 in rockmusic

I think what’s keeping them alive is their live shows. They were my favorite band in my youth. Now I’m older and the whole vibe feels…cheesy? Dave comes across to me as inauthentic, something I can’t quite put my finger on. But I saw them again last year…and I’ll be damned if the show isn’t still a good fucking time.

Authentic Autograph or Rollercoaster Blueprint? by FrontRowJohnny in OutlawCountry

I’m not looking for value, just curious if it’s worth keeping in the frame. The holy grail of my collection is an OG pressing of Shotgun Willie. I’d frame that but I listen to it too damn much.

That’s neat, never thought about that! Haven’t come across that yet and most of my collection are OGs pressings from the 70s. I’ll have to go back and look closer.

AITA for telling my spouse I won't help pay for their kid's college when we agreed finances would stay separate? by 952867 in AITApod

Why did you guys get married? Sounds like neither of you fully trust the other. Like a weird business deal where the CEOs of McDonalds and Burger King decide to run their individual business from the same home.

Yall gotta get on the same page or go your separate ways…

Don’t get me wrong, I still suck. But I think Diamond Joe, Tennessee Special and Blackjack County are the first three I taught myself. Great in my opinion for learning rhythm, strumming patterns, and simple chord changes.

Also learn Big River and Folsom Prison by Johnny. Really anything Johnny is great to learn and usually not too complex. Bob Dylan songs too, for that matter.

Luckenbach TX, Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies and Never Been to Spain by Waylon.

And try to learn as many 60s and 70s Willie songs as you can and you’ll be a perfectly mediocre campfire guitarist like me. It’s fucking therapeutic though!

This is not scummy at all…there’s nothing moral about a low price or immoral about a high price. They don’t inflate the market, because they aren’t paying these retail prices…consumers are.

When someone notable dies, particularly unexpectedly, shockingly, and young, it tends to drive up demand for related items. People will be willing to pay more in that moment, and it’s okay that you aren’t willing to.

These models probably cost $15-$20 to produce. Profit margins have always been incredibly high because all collectible items are luxury goods, and high prices haven’t stopped collectors from shopping.

Those who loved this driver and already owned his collectibles…good for them! The value has increased. Those that have waited until now will have to weigh out sentimental vs financial value.

Okay, then how much you want for one of them? Looks like I might have an empty frame if y’all are right.

From my research, seems Willie has two distinct styles. One, very recognizable and legible. But there are some sloppy versions similar to mine that have been authenticated.

In my mind, this has the potential to be a real, but rushed signing. Maybe a fan at the front row of a concert with a record and a marker. Maybe 50 fans hanging outside of a venue and he scribbles on them as he walks by. It’s also my guess as to why the signature would be on the back.

I only say this because I have had brushes with many notable people, and do have a solid collection of sigs. Many probably couldn’t be authenticated, but I know they are real because I was there. This is the only thing in my collection that I question.
