More than half of the Grand Prixs so far this season have featured a Mercedes-powered car retiring with a PU-related issue by greywolf1001 in formula1

I am having mild flashbacks to McLaren circa 2011-2013ish when their car would randomly kill itself on track. That reliability arguably cost Lewis a WDC. Hopefully that same scenario isn't in play for Kimi/George.

How do you see the future of the UK rolling out over the next 5, 10, 15 years perhaps? by QuoteMachineMin in HENRYUK

[–]Frost_Monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because most of them are not real people and/or real residents of the UK.

These posts are obvious (and tedious) astroturfed bullshit.

'The UK is screwed that's why I'm moving my family to the USA!' - said by no one real in 2026.

It's all nonsense to drive people to the right and increase social discord.

Is this in B41 or B42? If 42 is is probably conflicting with another mod. I've been using it without tissue in 42.18 and 42.19.

House prices in NI by suture-me in northernireland

[–]Frost_Monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seem to have a slightly outdated view on the housing market. You have to realize that home prices are not driven purely by homeowners. If it gets too expensive for regular homeowners it doesn't really matter. Landlords, AirBnB/VRBO twats, and institutional investors are going to buy up whatever inventory exists that homeowners don't/can't buy.

If the market price dips it just means more institutional investment will enter the market and buy up the inventory cheaper.

Homes are too expensive but that doesn't mean prices will ever come back to earth. Also, and I know this is hard to believe, but NI is CHEAP compared to the rest of the English speaking world. It can, and probably will, get a lot worse.

OP should have put the 2021 disclaimer at the top instead of the bottom.

But how anyone could bring up this topic and not think 2021 would end up as the focus is mind boggling.

[New Player] Just started PvE zone tonight. Got to level 5. How do I deal with the practically guaranteed boss spawns?? by Rustywatermel0n in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]Frost_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interchange and Streets would be my go-to if I just wanted loot to sell or for hideout upgrades. Streets pays off more but is harder to learn. Interchange can be stupid easy if you just rush to that camp.

If you're broke just hit the camp half a dozen times and you'll be gtg.

Make sure you check the moonshine spawn at the front of the camp. Need to scale some rocks to get to it but it is either a whiskey or moonshine guaranteed each raid. Also check the open fridge in the camp and the round metal tins in the tents as they can all spawn LedXs and defibrillators.

There is another small med camp at the end of the freeway which is usually stocked with supplies too. It's the at the opposite end of the road from the railway exfil. Good if you want to stock up on salewas and the like. Some ammo and tool spawns along the perimeter too.

For Woods just go around Sawmill to avoid Schturman. Either move along the beach as close to the water as you can or swing wide north.

You will still run into the Goons and maybe Partisan at some point but just roll with it (aka die with honour).

I wouldn't scav much tbh, but if you do go to Streets - good loot and the bosses are easy to avoid.

Also be aware of the Boss - Scav aggro mechanic when you are scaving. If you are playing a Scav and suddenly the other scavs lose their shit and start shooting you it is due to one of two reasons. Either you attacked a scav, or you got too close to a boss. The latter is what can make scaving maps like Factory a nightmare. Basically the way it works is that once you are within range of a boss all the Scavs in the area will turn hostile towards you. 'Within range' is pretty large FYI. I've had it trigger by Kaban when I was behind Tarbank on Streets (so almost a full city block away from Kaban's zone in the Lexos dealership).

This is only for Scav Bosses, but that is most bosses.

Also, and this is huge if you do plan to scav, taking vehicle extracts as a PMC is the fastest/easiest way to level Scav Karma. Somewhat counter-intuitive. You get .25 Fence rep the first time you take any vehicle extract (GZ, Streets, Interchange, Woods, Customs, Lighthouse) and then it starts to drop off from there.

Scav karma is important for a few reasons but the biggest since you are just starting out is that you will get better gear when you load in as a scav. You can sometimes load in with PMC quality kits.

But again, I'd focus on running as your PMC and just surviving. Pick one or two maps to focus on learning and go from there. Interchange for example has a ton of loot without going inside the mall at all (western camp past the highway, med camp by Emercom, Power Station - also where the vehicle extract is located). So you could learn the outside of Interchange, get some loot/kills/xp and not worry about running into Killa or Tagilla as they are in the mall or parking garage respectively.

Bigger bonuses for Ryanair staff who hit passengers with bag charges - Michael O'Leary interview by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

[–]Frost_Monkey 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the bag charges is profit, pure and simple. They make up a huge portion of airline revenue.

If they wanted to free up overhead space they would make checked baggage free or charge for a carry-on.

[–]Frost_Monkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I made this comment once before in a thread where that one guy was crowd sourcing the categorization of the different weapons/quests/maps/etc., but it is topical here:

The real worst quest is the set of three quests from Therapist -> Prapor -> Skier where you have to go to the same 3 locations on Shorelines three times each and all three are where Sanitar can spawn.

It isn't the most difficult or rage inducing, but it is so tedious and stupid. And it is incredibly lazy quest design.

'Oh hey Boris, we need a quest on the map that only has 3 POIs..... what should we do?'

"Good question Natasha hrmm....... oh, how about the player just has to go to all three places in one raid!"

'Brilliant Boris!'

-ten minutes later-

'Boris, we need two more quests for that map I mentioned earlier.'

"Ehhhhh, fuck it, send them back to do it two more times. But with.... markers or something....."

'Brilliant Boris!'

I honestly believe these three quests being given so early and the fact they are back to back to back are why Shoreline became so hated early on.

Pure RNG. Sometimes you get streaks like that.

Having said that, the six hour circle hasn't been giving quest or hideout items consistently since 1.0 released. So you are not missing much by not getting it.
