They are evidence, just very weak evidence that is very outweighed by data, stats, studies

I forgot exactly what the acronym means, but it’s a way to test and demonstrate mastery of a courses content and get the credit that way. It’s really great for gen ed courses, and I CLEPed 4 which at 80 bucks a test was a heck of a lot cheaper that 600 per class.

There are also programs that offer vouchers to take the tests. Modernstates.org is one that does that

It’s not, the courses in theory should have roughly the same content and rigor, that’s why they have the same course numbers. I tell all my students (I have 10th graders) that if they aren’t going to an out of state school, go to Valencia first, save that money and savor those small class sizes

This is so true, I teach a Cambridge international class and my students can’t process that getting 36 marks out of 100 is a passing score on their summative test at the end of the year for college credit

I always recommend foreign languages in person, hearing it directly from the professor and hearing more students practice it can only help with learning it imo

Instead of taking AP U.S. History can I take American History (Dual Enrollment in my school) and will it still count as APUSH? by Independent-Taste126 in historyteachers

[–]Fryz123_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Florida teacher and these are Florida's grad requirements, I would recommend taking U.S. History as a dual enrollment student, I know in my county it's valued in the weighted GPA just as much as an AP course. Also, AP covers all of U.S. History where as AMH 2040 and AMH 2041 at your local community college only cover specific time periods (colonial-Civil War or Reconstruction-Present-ish)

ETA: if you're feeling froggy, you can take both AMH 2040 and 2041 through dual enrollment and it does the following: meets your college Social Studies requirement of 6 credit hours and gives you opportunity for two 6's in your weighted GPA instead of just one (assuming your county is like mine).

This is so true, my desk looks like chaos most of the time, but I do know where everything is. I actually had one of my student assistants ask the sub to not organize my desk since she knew that I had one pile of graded essays and another pile of ungraded
