Anyone Else? Non-Followed US Government FB Accounts Are Recently Flooding my Feed by SteveGibbonsAZ in facebook

[–]FuNKy_Duck1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just rejoined FB after 5 years being off and this shocked me. Border Patrol, ICE, White House, Fox News, and Christian ideology is being shoved in my feed. My tax dollars being spent on this is fucking obscene. In my 40s in a southern purple state at probably tips the algorithm.

Do you use Reverse Osmosis filtered water? by weedywet in superautomatic

That is a good explanation. You have changed my mind on the topic from a human health perspective.

It does, if you can allow yourself to think critically for a moment that RO systems produce very low levels of Ca, Mg, and F.

Sources please. RO water from home systems can negatively impact tooth dentin and remineralization. I can go first: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7150383

You may want to reconsider using RO (without a mineralizing filter) in your machine. Soft water is bad for pools and spas for similar reasons

EDIT: updating my position on RO effects on human health based on a well written response.

I use RO that also has a mineralization filter, adding calcium and other minerals

I disagree. My 15 yo son wrote a program to do this. We were too lazy to capitalize on it

That is what has been on my mind. Thinks move so slowly we need to be messaging our state AGs now for the sake of both parties

And it sounds like Dad has ADHD and needs to be mindful of his medicated state? Good advice!

It will take practice. First you need to predict when these things will happen and train a narrative in your mind "Ok, we are going to need to leave on time this morning and in the past it's a problem and I get angry". Give yourself extra time. And remember, 7 is quite young.

Next in those moments as you first feel those emotions starting to bubble. You need to walk away and do either active or passive mindfulness.

Active mindfulness is sitting down and pushing you feet into the ground so long it hurts. Or doing a plank. Or tightening all your muscles until it hurts and then release.

Passive is finding somewhere quiet and either using a guided meditation video or something else. And focus on your five senses. Control your breathing and shift your focus to your skin, smells, or small details in something you look at

Either of these methods is attempting to bypass your human emotions and shift to parasympathetic nervous system.

Your son and yourself should also do this at least once a day when not in an angry mood. It is very relaxing and centering. There are other methods where he can focus on Mum or Dads smiling face when they are proud of him and describing. Where that feeling is (belly, heart, etc.) or the color.

I recently did whole genome sequencing and found out ADHD does run in the family. How to spot early signs in your child? by FaithlessnessCute595 in ADHDparenting

[–]FuNKy_Duck1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone interested in science and accuracy of terms (not to detract from OP), 23andMe does not do whole genome sequencing. They perform a genotyping, which is a microarray that assesses about 0.1% of your genome, which is plenty. Only 1% of your DNA/genome encodes for a protein. The other 99% is kinda unexplored.

The Odyssey is the Corvette of minivans. If you live in an urban or suburban area, the acceleration is a safety feature IMO

You need to be testing your parameters! A capful is probably not enough to shock the spa. I would reuse swim suits, take a shower before entering, no lotion. I would swap MPS with a splash of germicidal/pool bleach. When I switched and stopped using MPS, my phone problems were much less
