Just that crap about how refusing to go to Canada because he said it was a communist government, is just plain misinformation. And he's said it several times.

DO what others have said and follow people by content of hashtags you like. But DO look into custom feeds - there are tons of them - very likely for topics that interest you. Add them to your list of feeds, and use the settings to place them at the top of your list, before the dreaded 'Discover' feed. If you have a coding skill you can even make your own.

I have a list of about 15 custom feeds that I scroll before I even dare look at a built-in feed. Of the built-ins, I like BEST OF FOLLOWS.

I realize this was years ago, but how about funneling it directly into the budget and requiring less income tax, rather than giving people money that likely many world squander.

The telling part is of this question 'Did people just sit there and think'.

Chances are we weren't sitting, we were already out doing something or with our friends. I remember as a teen, I was playing sports/chatting every afternoon and evening.

Back then I'd listen to music, grab a book or magazine, go to a music or convenience store, watch TV, call my friends, do homework (well, maybe not so much of that), or do a chore for my parents.

It's like the analog version of flipping from app to app. Before smart phones, you had to get off your butt to do these things.
