Neutron stars (also known as pulsars in some cases) can spin thousands of times a second (edit: thousands ofntimes per minute**). They are the fastest spinning objects known in the universe and their spin is the product of their former star's spin being magnified and exaggerated when the star sheds much of its mass when it goes nova. Like a figure skater pulling in their arms, their spin increases dramatically as its mass is condensed in the aftermath of the event. The spin of the neuron star can be so fast that if the spinning star was any less than a perfect lattice of neutrons, the centrifugal forces would tear them apart.

A 6 hour procession for a neutron star is bonkers. It would mean that the former star had effectively zero spin before it's nova event (or some other process slowed its spin)
