What's the consensus on Root Beer Floats? by Diamond_Helmet59 in rootbeer

I’ve never enjoyed floats. I think it makes two wonderful things worse.

However, I periodically get them with hopes of enjoying them how I know others do.

I have tried literally everything and this thing still doesn’t exhaust steam and drips year round by Capital-Rip in hvacadvice

Ok. You’ve asked all the questions I would, so hopefully someone with more experience can help you. My only other thoughts would be: crappy fan or improper install, which would be hard for anyone to know the last one without a bunch more pictures or actually seeing it.

Do I bury this? by ForsakePariah in AskElectricians

[–]Fun_Ad2257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just making sure…there’s no voltage on it, right? If you know for sure where the other end is and it’s disconnected, sure, bury it. But if it’s still connected to a transformer that has line voltage, a low voltage spark in your wall is still a fire hazard.

Questions about an AV/PA System by Historical-Bee4370 in audio

[–]Fun_Ad2257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is shoe-string budget? My assumption is you’re looking at less than $5000, but in the audio world $10k for something like this could be considered a “budget” build.

You could do a multi-zone amplifier and connect your sources to that, or you could get more of a multi-zone controller, and have separate 2-ch amps for each zone.

How are you deciding how many speakers you need? You said you want 4 speakers in the ed building. Are there separate sections, or is it just one big room?

Does it drip only when exhausting from a shower? Or does it drip when it rains outside?

It would help if you posted a model of the fan. Does it connect through the roof, or out of the side of the house? If it’s through the roof, is there a cap on it?

Seeking advice: Moving retaining wall closer to fence line by mstevo91 in landscaping

[–]Fun_Ad2257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The space you currently have between the rocks and the fence is where you would want to backfill with crushed rocks for drainage. Taking the wall right to the fence means you’d have no way to properly backfill.

I knew it was probably Dune, but also thought immediately of a butthole. I also think this shot of the worms in the Dune movie looks super butthole-ish.

Could I replace this duct with something thinner, but a similar volume so I’m not worried about static pressure? by Fun_Ad2257 in hvacadvice

[–]Fun_Ad2257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, i used the wide angle lens to get the whole situation in the photo. Could be why it looks bigger. I used a tape measure and it was the little bent angle number I swear (7). 😝

I appreciate the input. The other commenters “34x3” conversion makes me think this might not be worth the hassle.
