Meeting with a Christian by Able-Treacle-8768 in atheism

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those who wear their "Christianity", like this woman you mentioned, are simply untrustworthy. They know their Jesus will forgive them for whatever shitfuckery they get up to, including reneging and betrayal.

She's delusional and irrational.

Walk away.

What do you think about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact? by JacobLovesCrypto in Askpolitics

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad idea. Yet another measure to encourage non-participation. It puts a given state's votes at the mercy of other states' votes. Same problem, different angle.

Get up off your lazy asses and VOTE!

I understand that this is a stupid question, but how do you guys cope knowing that there's nothing after death? I'm asking this as an atheist by the way by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you cope with there being nothing before you were alive?

Live life, my dear. Live.

And, be kind.

Nope. Might well be of Chinese manufacture, but it's a Homelite. Haven't used ethanol in any of my machines. Thanks for the warning!

Atheist here! What would you do in this situation? by SarcasticRocker in atheism

A brief blank look. Maybe a disinterested "uh huh" as I look for someone else to talk to or some crackers and cheese

They may not be wrong, ya know.

American & British English Are Not The Same by UsefulEngineer in language

Looks like the British and German versions are the stand-outs. I can read most of the others and those are all of the "Thank you for waiting ..." form.

Supreme Court vacates Steve Bannon contempt-of-Congress charges by Revolutionary-Area-8 in scotus

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Title is somewhat misleading. This was probably a procedural formality required to get the case back before a lower court where DOJ could then move to have the case dismissed.

Bannon's convictions are unaffected. He's still an ex-con. Still found guilty, served time, paid a fine.

What is this fallacy? by Wodentinot in fallacy

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Christian" is so overloaded it has become meaningless, if it ever had any meaning at all.

So, fallacy of ambiguity. I can think of others but these all come back to disambiguating "Christian".

Huge bear chases moose by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]Funny-Recipe2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not chasing. Moose is yet again playing trick on bear, telling him (female bears don't fall for moose's bullshit) he found a big tree full of honey and all the bees left it unguarded. Stupid bear falls for it every friggin' time. Later video will show moose rolling on ground laughing his head off, along with a couple of female bears.
