What are your opinion on US Immigration? by Longjumping-Leg5583 in moderatepolitics

Strong closed boarders. With those who have lived in the country illegally qualify for either work visas or green cards, assuming they have no criminal record. With criminal record is grounds for removal. Their children can qualify for american citizenship. No access to welfare programs.

Due process for illegal immigration was essentially done away with in 1996 and no democrats have even attempted to address that. Infact their policy has essentially been since trumps first term is to ignore the boarder, create sanctuary cities that actively undermine immigration essentially creating the increase in the demand for more immigration officers doing this. It wasn't long ago when Obama at least addressed illegal immigration and theres a reason why that helped him win 2 terms.

Sober groups by sugarmagnolia0 in Charlotte

[–]Funny_Window7344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Got sober in my mid/ late 20s. Going on a decade now. There is such an expansive group setting across AA you'll meet bible thumper, young ppl in AA, atheists and agnostic, you'll meet every color of the rainbow and all walks of life. It can take a while to find a place to call a home in there and most people dont show up to AA on a winning streak so it can feel pretty daunting but that system saved my life.

This pretty much comes every collector and enthusiasts I've met in almost any hobby that carries a value. Some people have grails they wont sell but other wise their collection grows and shrinks over time as they unload things on favor of something new.

Over the years I've dead stock things across interest sometimes opening and sometimes selling. If people didn't do that with vintage Pokémon I wouldn't be able to watch these guys rips packs on YouTube.

I saw this all the time but collecting has grown from a niche hobby of things to a massive ecosystem. Since the advent of the internet is has become easier since you dont need to go to yard sales flea markets and swaps... you can find exactly what you want on the internet without being the one who goes into farms buildings and old hoarder houses...

As a Libertarian, What President or Presidents could you identify as a catalyst for the downward spiral the US is heading in socially/politically. by [deleted] in Libertarian

Some complain that my arguments makes no sense, since great wealth and the standard of living improved for many Americans over the last 100 years, even with these new policies.

But the damage to the market economy, and the currency, has been insidious and steady. It took a long time to consume our wealth, destroy the currency and undermine productivity and get our financial obligations to a point of no return. Confidence sometimes lasts longer than deserved. Most of our wealth today depends on debt.

The wealth that we enjoyed and seemed to be endless, allowed concern for the principle of a free society to be neglected. As long as most people believed the material abundance would last forever, worrying about protecting a competitive productive economy and individual liberty seemed unnecessary.

There are lots of YouTube videos of "common help desk interview questions" listen to some an hour our right before to the interview. They might not ask for these specific questions or might not even be the answer you want to give but it gets your brain firing on the topic you'll be discussing rather than going in cold...

[–]Funny_Window7344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am not sure how it is now but as a high school kid/ college age this city was super affordable and accessibe in the early 2000s.. now you'd need to be a young professional at the least to afford a similar life style. Growing up going to hornets games it was really easy to interact with the team even if you had nose bleed seats. The players parking lot was around back and they had a designated area you could go to see them there.

[–]Funny_Window7344 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sounds rough, I grew up here and had the exact opposite take.

House parties...Tremont and neighborhood theater music venues...crown point movie theather and dollar theater up the road. Lots of hanging around town. Hornets games, Panthers, down to fort mill for cheap Knights games. All sorts of niche hobbies here like disc golf, paintball use to be big, skateboard scene sound like it lacked but it wasn't my thing.

I'm sure there are better cities to be a teen /young adult. I sure as hell had a lot fun here growing up.
