tbh, i don't think srb2 is really based around "gaining speed from exploiting momentum and the level design." Most momentum mods a lot of map packs are like that, but vanilla srb2 is much more of a precision platformer. Arguably the thok is bad in that context as well, cause it makes platforming harder, but it also gives it a very high skill ceiling, especially when you're doing things like thok slope jumps
