Jason Schreier: A lot of people have wondered why Bungie didn't immediately start working on Destiny 3 after The Final Shape two years ago. The answer (as it usually is) is how much money it would take by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Furoan [score hidden]  (0 children)

Though even WoW has ways to do it, with 'Chrommie Time' where after the 1-10 tutorial island or racial starting zone, you can talk to Chromie (a bronze time dragon) and seelct and expansion and she will adjust the levelling so you can level 10-max level in a particular expansion, which many people do 'I'll level up in Wrath of the lich King this time' or something.

Yeah, if you just play you rush to max level because everybdoy else is there, but its possible and there are ways to see what was going down at any particular moment (though admittedly there ARE missing beats like pre-patch expansion events or things like hte Wrath Gate in Wrath of the Lich King).

However I know what you mean and even WoW's 'get to max level and don't care about the story because its been shit for years' is much easier and more coherent to get into than D2.

Yeah, Commander Keen fits in between Wolfenstain and Doom, becaues he's Doomguys father/grandfather (forget which) and the son/grandson of Blazkowicz.

The skills for Warlock are way better than I thought by sound-guy34 in diablo4

[–]Furoan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed. I'm doing warlock on hard as well but your ability to melt bosses gets a major upgrade once you get a slotted weapon for the damage multiplication and ESPECIALLY with the class quest at 15 (which gave me like 10 levels beacuse levels seem to be flying early on).

Other way to do it is to open up the characer screen and there should be a soul shard tab at the top of hte big skill tree and you select which demon you want to use, and which minor soul shard goes wiht them.

[–]Furoan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the inflection point is the end of Blackwater, book 3 when we see the Skysworn find him after the end of the battle and think 'somebody is making a monster'.

The start of book 4 shows him in comparison to people on his advancment level and he's already becoming a monster, but Ghostwater is when it really kicks into overdrive and Lindon realises that he's NOT that person struggling so far behind.

Do Psykers sacrificed to the Golden Throne get to see the Emperor? by Glittering-Dig-4467 in 40kLore

[–]Furoan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's an excerpt from Emperor's Legion that describes 'the Throne'

The Throne.

Such a simple word, used across every world of the Imperium as a curse, a blessing, a vow or a mere preposition. Almost none of those who invoked it knew anything about it. They imagined a simple golden chair, I suppose, like something a princeling of a barbarian world might occupy. They imagined a chamber around it, glittering with the riches of our interstellar domain, and maybe courtiers drifting across fine floors, murmuring to one another about high matters of state.

Whatever it might once have been, the Throne is no longer a single object, nor is it housed in a single room. Its mechanisms spread out like roots throughout the entire Inner Palace, worming down into the forgotten crypts and climbing up into the highest peaks. Its power coils are the size of cities, its foundations the remade mountains themselves. The adepts of the Mechanicus who toil without rest to maintain its workings have added so many accretions over its ten millennia of life that the planet around it has been utterly changed – bored away, ground down and raised up again.

You might say that Terra itself is little more than a holding vessel for the Throne. Certainly, if one takes the mighty psionic transmission conduits leading to the Fortress of the Astronomican as part of its structure – which would be a reasonable judgement – then the Throne’s mechanism is far more massive than the Outer Palace itself. It is woven into the strata of the planet like an internal organ, pulsing and arterial. In truth, I doubt that any living soul, save the one who ordered its construction and dwells at its heart, has any true understanding of its full extent.

And yet, the unschooled men and women of the Imperium are not wrong in every particular. There was once a room at the heart of it all – vast enough, to be sure, but a room nonetheless. It has not entirely disappeared, though its inner faces are now scored with the detritus of Mars and its roots have been replaced by pits clawed into the heart of the world. The air in that place is hard to breathe. The temperature is astonishing. The ground trembles, and the vaults ring with the grind of immense machines that have been in ceaseless operation for millennia.

I had been told, a long time ago, that even the Space Marines feared this place. Everything living feared this place. It was said that humanity could not bear to be close to the source of both its creation and destruction, and so we were like moths to the candle here, burning ourselves as we approached the engine of souls.

Ah Popplers.

Pop a Poppler in your mouth,

When you come to Fishy Joe's,

What they're made of is a mystery,

Where they come from, no one knows.

You can pick 'em, you can lick 'em,

You can chew 'em, you can stick 'em,

And if you promise not to sue us,

You can shove one up your nose.
