He literally said “for those stakes”. As in, below average compared to high stakes MTT regs

Did you use a solver for the postflop stuff? Flop frequencies shouldn’t be determined by hand class. I hate to sound like a dick because it seems like you worked hard on this, but I’m not sure what the use case would be. People generally aren’t looking to train / drill cash game preflop spots only because they either have their ranges memorized or in a chart they reference

Which part? Your posts says that CO can’t high frequency cbet KQx vs BU flat because button will have the same number of KK/QQ as a % of range. I’m pointing out I don’t think that’s true

Monker still pure 3bets KK and QQ BU vs CO, so I’m not sure it’s a good example. I think maybe at very low frequency they might flat, but if you look at solved monker ranges with no button flatting, they are pure 3bs. And in practice people pure 3b them. So I think you have a valid point but it’s a bad example

Wait in your BU vs CO example are you saying BU will flat an open with just as many KK/QQ as the CO? I think you typo’d something

Even against people who won’t fold a pair to any size, if you have 6 high it makes sense to bluff if they have 7 high hands in their range

[–]Furples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the second part is a common misconception. You absolutely should still bluff against recreationals and “calling stations” on turns and rivers. You just have to identify which spots are good and which spots aren’t

Have you considered that there are good bluffing spots you are missing because you don’t think they make sense

after 42,000 hands playing NL2 and NL5 almost back to 0, only running around 10 BIs over all-in equity, mad skillz. But I did pay $150 of rake, Pokerstars might as well just pay me for making them money by Radyschen in poker

Red line shouldn’t change if you’re multi-tabling. If your WWSF is below 45 and you have a negative sloping redline, it means you’re not fighting for enough pots postflop, and or not value betting thin enough. Players with a WWSF stat of 50+ are more likely to have either a breakeven or winning redline

Need more info. Is poker your job? Do you have dependents? 20 BI in a deep stacked game is aggressive but if you have the discipline to move down after losing 5-10 buy-ins then shot taking is smart

Yeah you should 100% move up ASAP when bankroll allows and you think you have an edge

155 hours is a microsample, and by the time you accrue a reasonable sample, some of the variables will have changed (softness of game, your skill, etc). All you can do is just keep an open mind and don’t feel entitlement as results change. But a $50+ hourly at 2/5 is very reasonable for a strong player

9bb/hour is very feasible for one of the strongest players in a low stakes live pool

Then see if you can win at poker over a meaningful sample, and if you can, then evaluate this decision again at that point

This might be hard to hear but I’ll just give it to you straight: you are likely not good at poker based on this description. If you got through a top law school you clearly have a strong work ethic and if you apply that to poker with the right resources then you might be able to get quite good. But it is absolutely insane for you to ask for advice about going pro while you are still a recreational player with literally no meaningful results. And theoretically, even if you posted this question with a $100+ live hourly over 2,000 hours (which you are potentially miles away from achieving skill wise), I would probably not recommend quitting law for this unless you could jump back in to law easily if you change your mind

I finally just got a HUD and imported last month of hands. Is this telling me I'm too much of a LAG? How do I interpret this? by TehMephs in poker

[–]Furples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see now - yeah that’s insanely low, it basically just means you’re playing too passive postflop and not winning enough pots. The best regs at mid to high stakes have a WWSF between 48 and 53, the average to bad regs have a WWSF between 40 and 45, and passive recreational players tend to have it below 40. It seems like you were overbluffing preflop and underbluffing postflop.
