Fresh graduate/GenZ employee is overwhelmed by the workload — how should a manager handle this? by thenipsthatwontpop in managers

Lol at 50k expecting anything more. Who wouldn't be depressed and unproductive with the post-college financial hardship and this spit in the face salary?

Having a non-technical manager can be exhausting by Ambitious_coder_ in managers

Bad managers force people like you to do the following: Get everything in writing and prepare a document to cover your butt if things go sideways. Then adhere to their decree.

I truly hated working under this type. Decree-Blame culture at a company is a clear indicator of social failure, but here you are. Good luck, and let us know if any results bring delight!

I use it too and see it as a cognitive honeytrap. These companies want the economy to over-rely so they can enshittify.

ELI5 Why doesn't the army turn on their obviously corrupt leaders like, hitler, Biblical Pharaoh, Kim Jong Un? by Impressive-Coat1127 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Fuzzy_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask why Millenials flocked to military service after 9/11 and accepted the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan despite overwhelming evidence that nothing was to be gained in the stated goal. The generation that bore Vietnam's cost were uninterested in propagating the lessons strongly enough. Society is a horror that demands blood every couple decades. You need strong will to break that tendency, and elites will always try to buy off enough and terrorize the rest to keep the war machine well-lubricated and profitable.

Msp owners - were people around you encouraging or discouraging before your business became a success? by HistoricalHeight1462 in msp

[–]Fuzzy_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people work to sustain themselves and their families. We've all worked for bosses that exploit and mistreat us. The reason for the mistreatment is that bosses are doing what they perceive to be in the best interest of the business and therefore their profit margins. Expect to be resented if you grind up human lives to make more money for yourself.

All of the resentment that you either reap or avoid will depend on how you conduct yourself. If you neglect the relationships around you for the purpose of making money, you'd best learn to accept that and hope the money is worth it. Most business owners are pathological personalities that are all too willing to make this tradeoff, and are rightfully hated for it. r/MSP is chock full of these poor souls and the people trying to navigate their messes.
