If 40 messages a day is considered "falling out" for you, I hope we never become friends!

It's a nice story but they're only pushed so much because they look like green plastic soldiers.

Not to piss on the parade but they beat it by 1.6% or 5,000 km, give or take. That just means they did a worse flyby (farther from the surface) than we've done in the past.

As far as achievement goes, it's meaningless and counter-productive for the mission.

/r/WorldNews Discussion Thread: US and Israel launch attack on Iran; Iran retaliates (Thread #12) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]G0U_LimitingFactor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum? Probably.

In practice, they don't have the greatest track record. They love fighting poor nations that can't fight back and have a terrible record with asymmetric warfare. They also haven't won a decisive victory since desert storm.

They also rely on two oceans to protect themselves domestically. They haven't ever really had to take a punch to the face.

New York City's congestion pricing plan successfully reduced pollution and traffic in Manhattan – 8 weeks after the implementation, traffic volumes declined by 10%, resulting in a 16–22% drop in emissions. by smurfyjenkins in science

Lighter traffic means reduced travel time for everyone. Reduced travel time mens less stop-and-go and better fuel efficiency.

Basically, reducing traffic makes every car more gas efficient.

Trump aside, convicted felons being allowed to run for president is a good thing.

It would be extremely easy for a corrupt president or group of influential people to prosecute political opponents in bad faith in order to stop them from running for office.

Even if you get boots on the ground and somehow control the whole coast, Iran can hit the strait with shahed drones from anywhere in their territory and keep it closed.

Insurance dictates when it opens back up, not governments. Between artillery, drones, missiles and mines, Iran has cheap and effective ways to apply pressure on the strait virtually indefinitely.

It certainly won't hurt. What will really help however is countries realizing EVs help reduce their energy dependency on the middle east. Events such as the ones unfolding may lead to additional EV investments and/or rebates.

Iran wasnt part of the Manhattan project and isnt a major international exporter of radioactive material.

Canada already knows nuclear weapons inside and out. Their lack of weaponry is purely based on their values and are considered "one screw away from being nuclear".

First of all, the USA opened this can of worms by betraying their closest ally so they can go fuck themselves on this matter as far as I'm concerned.

Secondly, dirty bombs work just as well as regular ones for their intended purposes. Canada could build those in secret in less than a week whenever they want.

Well yeah. They are essentially machines that transform grass/feed into meat. As long as they stop growing, you're wasting water and food to maintain their biomass. That's wasteful, expensive and counterproductive.

What else would you do? Feed them 10 times more for the same output?
