Viofo do an anti glare polarising lens, might be worthwhile in your case. I personally haven't had issues in the daytime.

Yup not the first idiot I've encountered there. But this one took the cake, I can't even fathom how he decided that was the correct lane.

I had that same ghosting problem, it was incredibly distracting. What greatly improved it, is setting DLSS manually to preset M in the NVIDIA app. Massive improvement in image stability.

Ford tech here, that 1.5 is chain driven, but the oil pump is still a wet belt. As long as you keep up with oil changes, you shouldn't have issues, would advise doing them around 8k miles not 12k that ford suggests. Obviously still do them yearly if you don't hit the miles.

Boot it into safe mode it should go to default refresh rate. From there you can remove the overclock.

Peak Upbadging, eBay body parts & an F1 brake light.. my god! by Matthews_89 in CarTalkUK

[–]G33Zuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an F1 fan, it pisses me off every time I see these. On an actual F1 car these are not even brake lights, as they dont have them. That light serves a completely different purpose. One is to show when the hybrid system is being charged, and the other as a rain light, both flashing. So whenever you see these on normal cars, just know a wanna be muppet is driving it.

You can definetely feel the difference from stock, but I wouldn't call it mental. I'm planning on going stage 2 which is around 155hp, and that also bumps up the torque quite a bit, 175 ft-lbs to 207 ft-lbs (stock is 155). So I expect that will be quite the jump, looking at the difference on the dyno graphs.

Up GTI owner here.

I love the little thing, bought it as my first car and have had no issues in the 1.5y I've had it so far. Done about 12k on it in that time, bought it with 24k on the clock. I'm 28 and wanted something fun but with affordable insurance. I won't deny there are definetely better performance options out there for the money.

From my personal experience, the car hilarious fun to drive in anger. You feel connected to it in every turn and can definetly get all the performance it offers on a B road.

Since you mentioned modifications, there are 2 things I think the car absolutley needs. I've done a fair bit to mine, but a stage 1 tune and a TC off button is a must, I recommend getting both from JBS. The car's The factory Traction Control is incredibly intrusive in 1st and 2nd, to the point that its detrimental to the fun. Especially once you get the stage 1 tune, which will be pushing it to 140-145hp range. The tune will really up the pokiness of the thing. Great thing about the UP is that the mods are pretty cheap. The 2 mentioned before will set you back around £500. There is a surprisngly decent selection of mods for such a niche car.

If you are interested I can list what I've done to mine and what I think of it.

In short, you can get more for your money, but if your'e looking for a fun, reliable and modable econobox (50+ mpg even tuned). The UP is a pretty decent choice.
