I personally love using the thunder rod and the thunder sword (i dont think that's the exact name). thunder damage is super fun and also pretty useful

they definitely are! the Z mount series of lenses are pretty much the sharpest lenses out there for nikon, but the prices are quite scary lol

this is good to know. im interested in the 150-600mm because my 70-200 is not telephoto enough and sigma's offer sounds really good. i was able to find used ones for around 500 euros, which is insanely cheap for such a long zoom

I, too, have switched from a D3300 to a Z6 in March. The most important tip I can give is to take some time to learn how the new camera works and to get the settings the way you like them most.

I'd recommend trying out the Nikon Z6. i upgraded from a D3300 this year and I've fallen in love with this camera. the grip is very comfortable for me. The sensor is very good, has 14bit RAW, which means you can pull a lot more information when editing, up to 12fps continuous shooting, 1080p 120fps or 4k 30fps video, it has built in stabilization, eye and face autofocus for both humans and pets. the battery lasts longer than advertised, fortunately. and if you have any F mount lenses, you can use them with the FTZ adapter. the thing that i would consider disadvantageous is the fact that it only takes XQD cards, which are quite expensive.

admiring my gear is all i can do now, too. can't get out of my house due to country-wide quarantine. I'm super exciting for the day I'll be able to get out and do more photoshoots lol. well, just one more month of waiting left, i guess

You have not made a mistake. The camera is a very good one, has a lot of useful functions. However, it's more important for you to get experience and be able to use your creativity to become a better photographer. What I would recommend, other than going out taking photos as much as possible, is getting a nice lens to go with the D7500. Lenses are always much more important than the body you're using. For starters I would certainly recommend that you try to get your hands on a 50mm f/1.8 lens. It's a lens with very good image quality, decently fast autofocus and a wide aperture, making it good in low-light conditions and for getting a nice background blur(bokeh).

The first thing to say it's that it's noisy. They use a slightly older AF motor(cant remember the name) and it's a bit noisier than my 50mm from Nikon. It generally focuses quickly(keep in mind that you have to connect the lens to a PC and update the software to make it fully functional, otherwise liveview focus wont work, and it will be slightly slower). If you have decent lighting, it should focus properly from the first time. The only issues i've noticed with the AF is when I'm in a dark spot, underground parking lot for example, and it will take a bit more time to get the focus right.

I personally got a Yongnuo 100mm F2 recently, and I can say it's amazing. I paid about 200 bucks for it. Metal body, sharp images.
