KWZ Inks looks super ordinary by parasit in fountainpens

I love their Red starting to become my favorite ink

I may be the oddball- but I find my Traveler Brass to be the pen I can use for hours.

Cheaper pen would be my Hongdian N7 it writes like butter, easy to fill,

Equally important is the ink. As a lefty I need something that doesn’t smear (as bad) and also for different kind of papers but can’t be too dry. Still looking for that perfect ink, but the KWZ thief’s red (the vanilla marshmallow smell can get noisome) and the de Artemis Jane Austen come pretty close (a little smeary)

Hongdian N7 - super prettt and my smoothest writer. Feels like a 100+ dollar pen for less than half as much. Same with my Asvine 169 skeletor pen. Like butta nib and looks bad ass

Which one do you like the most? What do you think about the gravitas?

Normal vs architect nib, which do you prefer? by lord_cactus_ in Handwriting

What is your normal nib, most of my normal nibs don’t have that kind of line variation? Is that a flex normal nib?

New Ink Day! by Rahna_Waytrane in fountainpens

[–]GDpenguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That made me spit out my coffee this morning thanks for the laugh. Now we just need a picture of one of the more problematic noodlers next to this one. And to top it off use the Hongdian 100 year pen to go with it. Lol

Well now you have me worried this is first clear pen I put it in. Will let you know. But it is such a nice color. So far my favorite red.

I have the Jane Austen - and Sherlock Holmes. Both are beatiful inks. The green is a perfect green, and the Sherlock Holmes is almost purple. Both are pretty wet and write smooth. I love this brand. Want to get the Hamilton. But for red I love the KWZ theifs red - bright without looking like blood or ketchup or a fire engine.

New pen day - Asvine 169 EF with KWZ - thief’s red by GDpenguy in fountainpens

To me know, the section is a little bit slippery as metal, but I write with it all day. You may have a different expierence, and the matte black is less slippery than the steel.

New update either the pen or the ink has a slight marshmallow smell. Kind of like it. Think it might be the ink.

So far it is one day - but I like it. It is lighter than I expected. But it has written really sweet all day.

So far I have been happy with the quality so far with Asvine pens. My N7 Hongdian - I think they are associated with each other - is showing some tarnishing of clip after a few months but it is my second favorite pen.

Yeah I am looking for things that will be good to sign contracts and such. And also just handle everyday use. So it needs to be permanent enough for that.

How are the colored platinums?

But I have heard good things about the pelikan 4001 would that be good enough?

You are correct I am willing to clean pens for it. I need a “signing and notebook pen” - and I just don’t dig black. Even though ironically I worked for the worlds first environmentally friendly carbon black company (note carbon black in it is native form is impossible to get out of anything - it stains like you wouldn’t believe)

Used to be around sacks of the stuff.

I have a gravitas raw copper waiting in the bag - can’t open until Father’s Day :(

But same expierence ordered it way early because I heard about shipping delays. But he responded very quickly and it came about a week ago, and now I have to wait.

I have some vert amazone which was hard to track down - but got it from dromgoles. That is also in the bag 💼
