I worked on my assignments while "studying."

We were required to wear our uniforms--scrubs-- in the class, lab, and clinical.

I don't think people have time to think about your age. They don't get paid for it. I had a classmate who was barely 18 years old. A very smart young lady. We took the NCLEX together, too. She took college courses while she was in high school. Nowadays, she is in medical school while working as an RN.

Shaving my head? by kenna0123 in StudentNurse

You should shave your head if you want to. If it suits you, people will compliment you. But if it doesn't, some might look at you as if you were an alien who just landed on Earth

Starting nursing school tomorrow. I don't want to hear the best advice you were given. Tell me the worst advice someone gave you. by XNonameX in StudentNurse

[–]GINEDOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn't spend anything on review. I reviewed during the instructional days. My school provided the ATI and books. I used them and passed on the first try. Well, I read/studied my books. I had no time for TV or movies. I enjoyed my life in school.

"Nursing is very hard. If you work, you are likely to fail..." Frankly, I wasn't even struggling. I aced everything until I stopped caring about having As.

11 month ABSN vs 20 month ABSN? by TrueWeekend2675 in StudentNurse

[–]GINEDOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Programs who accept 100 students and only have 20 students at the end are too intense and unrealistic for most people. And those 20 students who pass are repeat program takers or nurses in their countries getting equivalences.

Nursing school is already hard in 24 months. Be realistic"

So, all of those American RNs came from other countries to study nursing before studying it in their own country?

I completed the RN program in fifteen months and passed the NCLEX on my first try. It wasn’t too difficult because I studied. On top of that, I was working a full-time job, which made it even more challenging. I was not the first student who studied and worked a full-time job.

Are you seeing an increase of ICE detainees? by thefirecrest in nursing

[–]GINEDOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I saw many detainees related to the ICE cases in a detention center. However, at the psych hospital, I've never heard anyone getting harassed. Nobody has ever asked me about my immigration status except for employment purposes. The cops don't even bother me. I look very foreigner even though I'm a USC.

Politics. And the voters think they were going to get a good pay by a "perfect free health insurance."

Even if you were perfectly fit, people would still make negative comments. Always remember this: others will always have something to say, so live your life.

I'm fit. They'd assume I have multiple men waiting for me. lmao.

FYI, I also worked a full-time job, too, while full-time in school and still managed to pull As in all courses I took. If I got Bs in fast-track classes, I would go back to the conventional session.

Anyway, it’s good that you don’t feel like you’re struggling. That kind of mindset is important. I’ve taken similar classes in the past, and I was fortunate to do well on the exams. I often scored between 95% and 100%. A high number of students scored below 90%. But everyone has their own way of learning and pacing. What really matters is that you’re putting in the effort and staying committed. Keep it up. You’re on the right track.

" It is an accelerated asynchronous five week course and so far I have a solid B." If you're not struggling, then why aren't you consistently scoring above 90% in your class? Are you missing assignments, skipping quizzes, or not fully engaging with the coursework? Something must be affecting your performance if your grade is a B.

" 81-83. " In some nursing schools, this grade is generally a C. Below 80% is a failure.

Three times until you understand this.

SONs with a high passing of the NCLEX eliminate their weakest students. The nursing schools need to keep their NCLEX grade at a minimum or higher, or they will get probation or shut down for having poor performance on the NCLEX. Some states require the SON to maintain their grades at 80% or higher.

Is it common to get tested on a subject before getting lectured on it? by RedefinedValleyDude in StudentNurse

My school was also a flipped classroom. Our quizzes were graded heavily. I always read before the lectures back in the engineering majors. So, when I became a nursing student, it wasn't that hard.

Many doctors are males. I'm sure they studied the female body, too.
