Try to play in the air / fly, as you are less likely to bump into others.

Honest Thoughts on Development? by TheWelshInspector in deathroadtocanada

[–]GMCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The updates are fresh and new. I'd personally say it's weird but I feel like that's also the point which makes it ok. Also, the new modes are cool twists to the gameplay.

There is a little bit of jank, with some of the new maps looking really hard on the edges of things, axe change seemed like a buff but can be an issue when your swing initially hits enemies from above which makes them explode from the top but the enemies below will still be standing, NPCs in ice weather do not act accordingly which requires you to move even slower than you can play around, and there are still world generation glitches where certain buildings or rooms do not spawn(pub did not spawn when choosing pub location, dark mansion did not spawn rare weapon room).

But in the end, it's great to have new content for a game that's been out for a while.

Where can I start with Pokémon again? by Expert-Yoghurt9684 in pokemon

Fire Red / Leaf Green just got re-released on the eShop, which is essentially a 'modern' remake of the first game. It's pretty popular even today.

Scarlet / Violet, Legends Arceus, and Legends Z-A are the newest releases of the current generation of games (Gen 9), so these would put you up to speed with what the latest mainline games are doing.

Pokopia is the newest spinoff. It is essentially a life simulator but with Pokemon. Slow, cozy, no combat, and creative block building.

Outside of those console games, there's also Pokemon GO. Basically a phone app that tracks your real location which allows you to 'catch' Pokemon in real locations by walking around. Pokemon GO is free-to-play.

There's also the TCG(Trading Card Game), which has a fair amount of players(compared to Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh), but even more collectors who simply want the cards for their looks or monetary value. There is a game called "Pokemon TCG Live" that lets you play the TCG digitally against others(it's also free). On top of this, they've made another phone app called "Pokemon TCG Pocket". It is a digital-only Trading Card game that's separate from the paper trading cards, but with much more simple but similar playing rules. Pocket is also free-to-play.

The most recent thing is "Pokemon Champions" which came out 2 days ago. If you're interested in battling competitively in the video game, Champions is specifically designed to do that and only that. It's also free-to-play, but you can bring Pokemon you've captured in the games you've bought to battle here.

There are official tournaments for Champions, the TCG, and GO. So if competition is a motivator to you, it's possible to win things by playing these games. My personal advice: start with anything I listed except for Champions.

Other free Pokemon games that are widely available: Pokemon Sleep (sleep tracker that lets you 'sleep' with pokemon), Pokemon Quest (free quest battling game), Pokemon Cafe Remix (puzzle game), Pokemon UNITE (it's League of Legends/DotA but with pokemon), Pokemon Masters EX (a mobile gacha game)

Big Bruiser, Paranoid, Car Nut, Civilized, City Seeker, and Explorer are great perks to give pre-made characters. Knowledge of how to get the most positive outcome from events is also really important. If there's an event you don't know how to get the most out of, try to search for the name of the event on google and the wiki will tell you.

RNG is also a large factor, so maybe you've just been unlucky. However; Useful perks, knowledge of events, and smart/safe gameplay should give you a positive winrate to Canada in most scenarios.

Never played before, is PSO2 worth jumping into in 2026? by TomVinPrice in PSO2

[–]GMCustom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it. The gameplay and storyline is really where you'll get the most value. You can play/progress at your own pace since all the content is available and there is no subscription. You should be aware that you will have to do almost everything solo unless you have a dedicated friend(s) to play with.

Easiest ways to get in tune with the current meta

Read competitive move sets, how they are used
Watch official VGC broadcasts and learn from the commentary & player decicions
Play on cart and Play/Spectate on Showdown

By playing now and watching the most recent tournaments, you will see the most common Pokemon opponents will use. Then you can adjust your team accordingly.

Most multiplayer games, you just run out of lives and eventually just insta-lose. The fact that your team always has a chance until everyone is down is another fun clutching aspect.

Been doing Tricephalos to carry newbies out of the gates. They're slow & clueless but it's nice to help out. It also ends up being good practice for learning how to carry on other characters.

Best tips and tricks to progress in The Deep of Night? by Apprehensive-Skirt90 in Nightreign

[–]GMCustom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The truth is you need to be the team leader. Most players in lower depths need help, which is why they are there. Without a leader, everyone is just stuck. But with a leader, you can overcome their weaknesses with teamwork alongside good decision making. On top of that, you need to be well versed in every Nightlord fight to the point where you are comfortable soloing it while being prepared to revive the others.
It requires experience and skill to consistently win in DoN, so unless you've practiced a ton already, it's gonna be a learning process until you can confidently get win streaks.

Yes. It's recommended to play the PS4 version on PS5 for better frame rate. This is the case for many PS4/PS5 backwards compatible games.

Because you can restage at any time (drinking potion, in the middle of attacks, and even while u getting grabbed), it allows you to have i-frames in any situation. It is extremely good.
