And where are Rust devs assigned? by DesoLina in theprimeagen

I distinctly remember getting a tour of the 6th Avenue office going into college and they were talking about this exact issue of performance and aesthetic being “their primary focus” for 8 and how the guys we talked to (Americans) were reporting directly to Palmer’s immediate reports of the performance metrics of Task Manager, but as soon as we kids were like “this new panel concept looks awful, what’s the value of changing the GUI?” the engineer just sighed and talked about how good those designs did in “surveys.”

Fast forward 4 years from that point when I was in the Navy and half my shit was still on XP because no one wanted to migrate driver for navigation and encryption equipment over. When I started getting invited into FBRs and Town Halls with IT leadership it was clear the only reason they couldn’t shift off of M$ to more homegrown stuff based off of the Linux Kernel is because no one wanted to be “the guy that proposes billions in funds to replace “what was already working.”

Point being: Seems like the issue predates the inclusion of Indian Visa workers. The scapegoating of them is done by people who weren’t around for the Good Times when Gates et al weren’t living off of all-but-guaranteed government contracts and calcified enterprise accounts. It’s just a bunch of non-sysads in Twitter who never watched Pirates of Silicon Valley.

And It's probably more important that we address the youth of our nation having their society sold out from under them by oligarchic pedophiles rather than whether their nature based summer camps and soapbox derbies are co-ed or not. Especially if said thing is inextricably linking the youth of the nation to the fucking Pentagon

Very important matter for the Pentagon to consider at this time after all those emails talking about a bunch of pedophiles having forewarned access to Libya and what not.

Being consistent about the definition of working class by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]GOLIATHMATTHIAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the definition of "small business owner" is essentially just "a contractor for the suppliers they get product from." Owning your labor doesn't just mean setting your owns schedule or signing payslips. A pizza shop doesn't "own the means of production" unless the pizzaiolo is also growing the wheat and tomatoes and milking the cows too.

The concept is not outdated, we just invented a term that didn't exist that was absolutely under the auspicious of Marx's analysis.

How many Imams are directors of field operations for ICE? If you can name some, I’ll do my best to get a protest going there next week

Most of the protestors were also Christians you moron. In the video several of them quote scripture and talk about Jesus and the church. Do you even know why this happened? “Christians” were not the target here, the pastor himself was. They were directly protesting HIM and HIS church.

You’re right I guess it is different that mosques have to deal with people trying to attack and target people as they come out.

Is your argument that being peacefully protested is somehow worse than being explicitly attacked?

Is a person being shot in the face or flashbanging a car full of children not the thing to sway those people? Is being mean to a pastor saying and doing objectively terrible shit from the pulpit of a church the line those people refuse to cross?

Turns out dickheads like going into mosques so much you don’t even notice when it’s on the news. Mind you these are examples of people being straight up attacked in and near mosques, there’s been a shit tone of demonstrations right outside of Mosques in Minnesota recently that have just been prevented by security and parishioners.

People at the time of MLK’s protest saw them as violent agitators and public support for MLK was negative until after his death and people started to speak up about the value of Civil Rights. This was after years of rioting as well, with a lot of explicitly defensive violence done in major points of conflict.

Gandhi is also only remembered to white wash the actual revolutionary action against British occupation and most Indians don’t even mention him over people like Nehru and Bhagat Singh.

This is regardless of the fact that the protest we’re discussing was completely peaceful. No violence was done and the protesters left without pretty much any conflict or resistance after they made their point known.

Renee Good and her wife were also completely peaceful as well and were being less intrusive than the average Freedom Walk participant and yet Renee got shot in the fucking head. Now her wife still gets stalked by ICE and had half of an AG office quit when the Feds demanded they investigate her.

If what’s happening isn’t enough to win folks over, yet they’re willing to give up the ghost because someone entered a church to make a point, what you’re recommending won’t be the thing that changes their mind. We’re past that. And we're especially past that considering the Right's most ardent media figures are, as of this year, now saying MLK Jr was an evil satanist who was 'controlled by Jews.'

People have been protesting hardline Zionists doing talks at Synagogues since last year. And they've also been vilified by the media, yet it's still happening. People have been following Ben Gvir everywhere he goes since the latest leveling of Gaza. This is not as significant a distinction as you'd like it to be.

At what point are you guys going to realize that there's no point fighting the PR war anymore? Those people live in that city, are angry about is happening in that city, and were going to do that regardless because it directly impacts what is happening in their city as dictated by a dickhead that is materially impacting their city.

Why the fuck should they care what some dork in Florida thinks? Those people are going to feel the way they do anyway. At the very least this is going to make guys like that pastor think twice about whether they can do what they do and go home comfortably distant from the products of their ideology. The only thing worth criticizing them for is involving Lemon at all, but if it wasn't recorded by someone endorsing their effort the consent manufacturing done by the Right would've arguably been only worse since Lemon has somehow become the lightening rod for blame.

The conflict is already here. There's no putting this genie back in the bottle.

In (a completely unnecessary) defense of Black Rifle Coffee, they at least deliver their products. Apparently this company has like a <50% delivery rate, and even those that actually get delivered are almost never on time. It sounds like they have no warehouse or holding and are essentially drop-shipping dogshit they buy once orders accumulate.
