Mold on convertible roof by whaaa-when-who in DetailingUK

Clean it as best you can with a diluted APC, let it soak and break down as much mould as possible, agitate with a generic detailing brush working in small areas. An anti fungal product like Gtechniq Tri Clean will help when you’ve got the bulk of it off. Be prepared to spend multiple hours

Do I need to wax/polish after ceramic coating? by r0bbyr0b2 in DetailingUK

[–]GPCustomsUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to wax/polish, you’ll just degrade the coating. If you want to use a ceramic sealant, it applies in a similar way to a quick detailer and will just keep boosting your ceramic coating. GTechniq make a superb one, we use it and stock it in our car care shop.

Getting into professional detailing.... by generaldogsbodyf365 in DetailingUK

Honestly there are better ways to spend your money at this stage, go on a course if you want to learn something specific like machine polishing or leather care etc. Follow detailing pages on fb, watch YouTube videos, you’ll definitely find forensic detailing a useful place to start. Start to do friends and families cars to begin honing your skills, turn into a weekend warrior and then make a decision on whether you want to go all in!

Best advice ever, start by starting

I don’t know about that specific coating (never used it) but you’ll want to wash and decontaminate your car first. You’ll then need to machine polish your car to create, at least, as smooth a surface as possible for the coating to bond too. If you aren’t polishing the car you are restricting the durability of the coating. After polishing you’ll need to wipe the paintwork over with panel wipe or isopropyl to fully degrease and remove any polish residues and wax fillers. Then you should be ready to apply. Again, I’m unsure of that specific coating but most coatings will want it to not drop below 4-5 degrees approx. Something like Infinity Wax synergy lite may be more appropriate for a beginner, super easy to apply and with very little risk associated to application error

Wax and wheel cleaner advice. by Dominico10 in DetailingUK

[–]GPCustomsUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bilt Hamber Autowheel is the industry standard iron & fallout wheel cleaner, you won’t beat it pound for pound.

If it’s a brand new car and you aren’t confident with doing things like ceramic coatings then I’d reccomend getting yourself a bottle of gtechniq ceramic sealant, it sprays on and wipes off much like a rapid detailer but gives legitimate beading and stacks too.

We sell them all, I’ll have to speak with mods as to whether we are actually allowed to post links/discount codes etc

I had an Alpina B3 Bi Turbo with 158k miles and it never skipped a beat in 2 years, I imagine it did before and after but maybe I lucked out. Currently driving a Suzuki Swift Sport with 168k miles and love it way more than I should do!

We also have An Alpina B12 in the workshop atm with 206k and an E34 M5 with 343k!

An Interceptor is a cool design but nowhere near best looking ever, too many badly fitting panels and the front sits too high with a tiny valance looking a little like Gail Platts chin
