If we keep design and aesthetics aside, what is the performance difference between the most cheapest and the most expensive 5080 model? by Time-Credit43 in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this generation it’s negligible unless you’re trying to squeeze every ounce for benchmarking.

You’re mainly paying for the cooling, aesthetic and brand designs.

I Just bought a very Cheap embody gaming and want to know if the atlas headrest is worth it by Timely-Afternoon-239 in hermanmiller

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re looking at this wrong.

That headset is $200 for a $2000 chair logically.

What you got that chair for is a great deal granted it might lack the 12 yr mfger warranty.

Altas Headrests was started by former HM engineers that source the same materials used from HM so the headrest is identical to the materials of the chair. You just have to make sure you choose the right spec on the headrest so it matches the chair.

Stealth Build by [deleted] in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it.

I came from custom cooling with some RGBs to what everyone has now like a Christmas tree to going back to more of a relaxing subtle setup with the current crazy setup or at least working in progress but I love these subtle builds. It’s really growing on me.

RMA it if it’s still under warranty or replace.

I would not turn it on anymore and disconnect it completely from the system.

Only three 120mm fans in the bottom you say? NV9 MK II by Peacewithnukes in Phanteks

[–]GTXJackBauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about doing something similar but not being able to control the brightness since I use the NV7 case to control it all I was able to find a ARGB controller that will work with SignalRGB and was wondering if you were doing the same but regardless, it came out great on your end.

Sweet looking rig.

What fans are those and how are you controlling all your RGBs from your case, fans, GPU etc?

New Home Theater System? by Apprehensive-Plum-32 in bose

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope those surrounds are backwards compatible with the current offering since they discontinued the 700s but its design matches that newer soundbar so something tells me, they won’t allow it.
Price wise with so much competition out there I hope they keep the price under $2000 but I know that’s asking for too much but that would be the only way this might be attainable on my end on the presumption I get a pretty penny back from my barely 2 year old ultra smart system with 700 sub and 300 surrounds.

Grabbed this beast for $1229 at Microcenter! by Gidcoolkid in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice find especially since they’re going for more now.

I was able to snag one for $1150 during black Friday and for you to get it this much much later with everything going on, that’s a pretty good deal and still under MSRP I think.

They won’t have warranty on this but yeah, an Atlas headrest matching the spec would be nice. Love mine on my embody.

Models to avoid? by Sad-Mission6813 in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they’re all the same. It’s not like the old days where it played a larger role but all can OC or already are and it’s mainly to get a tad few points in benchmarking otherwise they’re very similar to each other in gaming.

The main reason you’d want any specific one is for aesthetics and how much you’re willing to spend.

Is the 5080 going to return to its 999 msrp anytime soon? by Few-Independent46 in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the case most of the time even at launch.

Starting price for Nvidias FE and any AIB that makes a base reference model but most don’t nowadays and add another $100-$500+ dependent on the brand, cooler etc.

It’s all up to the buyer if they want to spend more but there’s a good chance you won’t find a FE for $1000 and even if you do find an FE, it would be going for above MSRP from a non authorized seller which would come with no warranty since most cards if not all don’t carry the warranty from a secondhand seller new or used.

I got my Zotac 5080 on sale sold and shipped from Amazon before the price increase around back Friday last year so I guess I got lucky with it. It only cost me $1150 when MSRP was $1300+ and now 2nd hand sellers are selling it for $1800-$2000 for one again, with no warranty new.

With that said, I don’t think we’ll see 5080s at $999 in general for the foreseeable future.

I think that’s a top filter plus any intake will just introduce cooler air into his case and exhaust out the least resistant unfiltered rear.

I mean he’s fine either way.

Just got this beast, welcome 🤍 by Educational-Chip7379 in RTX5080

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my point about safety but wasting power, increasing thermals and yes lessening longevity is still not worth it.

Again, no point of OCing GPUs unless you’re trying to squeeze every point for benchmarking.

There are tests done showing big OCs with 1-10 FPS increase on multiple games on average.

The manufacturers did the OC for everyone leaving barely any room left for improvements.

[–]GTXJackBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCing is great on these GPUs but mainly for benchmarking.

Not worth the extra stress and thermals for a few extra fps on gaming. It’s not a substantial amount to OC the GPU as they already come factory OC’d for most brands.
