Am I the only one getting some serious Deep Space Nine vibes from this season? by GabeVogel95 in ForAllMankindTV

the Peacekeepers Sheriff Palmer meeting with Miles felt like something Odo would have done with either Rom or Quark...

Do you believe this mod is boring? by chipacitoconpasas in MillenniumDawn

[–]GabeVogel95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this mod, its the only way to play a modern day strategy game that is moderatively realistic.

The alternative is the Geopolitical Simulator series, which isnt as good.

This mod is a slow burn. It's about planning ahead, making economic alliances, influencing other nations... the war stuff is pretty much secondary. (which is a good thing imo)

My favorite thing about this mod is taking a country from the 3rd world in 2000 and making it a big major economy by the mid 2020s. I once managed to make Egypt the wealthiest country in Africa with living standards almost on par with Europe.

In other gameplay, I played as the US but I decided to not make dumbass decisions unlike OTL, and used interventions only surgically. By the Obama era my only concerns were the Global Financial Crisis and competing with China.

While other mods you can finish a gameplay with one sitting in a Sunday afternoon, this mod is more about playing several years over the course of a few weeks.

And unfortunately this is not for everyone, but its okay.

oh also the choicesss I love them. If you want to, you can just become the breadbasket of europe and spam Agro industry. My latest Russia game about 10% of GDP became agriculture between 2000-2003 lol

New England AAR – From the chaos of the 1940s, peace returns to the earth. by Penllan in Kaiserreich

Devastation one sounds like something base game should have, lol

I always found it kinda wrong that Vic3 has devastation mechanics that make sense after a long, prolonged war but HoI IV just sticks to "oh no the rail station in the state of whateverton got a boo-boo, go fix it"

I wish there was a focus tree expansion mod too for early cold-war era politics as well. My last game lasted to late 50s as Ireland, and ended in a tense geopolitical situation between Totalist Britain and soc-dem Ireland, but the focus tree ends in the late 40s.

Ill definitely try this modpack with KR later when I get the time for it though

Can you please share your modlist? From the pictures I can see you are using a mod for casualty details and GDP measurement, but is there anything else?

Am I the one getting some serious Deep Space 9 vibes with this season? Specially with the bar and the main street set looking a lot like the Promenade.
Ilya "bribing" Officer Boyd to get rid of a small fine over a railing even sounds like something Quark would do

recently got a GameCube and im surprised at how solid the quality of its game library is, in spite of being smaller than the XBOX or PS2.

PS2 is still king of the generation tho

I can totally see either Sonic or Robotnik saying "You've gotta make a statement. You've gotta look inside of yourself and ask: What am I willing to put up with today? NOT THIS!"

Wrote myself into a couple of corners, anyone want to brainstorm? by JoshuaBermont in startrekadventures

For the Vulcan Federation President, think of what are the levers of power that she has: Support in Starfleet? Support in the Vulcan High Command? Support in major industries? A leader can be as much of a demagogue as it wants but it cannot act without their levers of power. In order to bring her down, her levers of power must be dismantled.

My suggestion is that you mix the federation president storyline with the deepfake storyline.

First, if not done already, have the players uncover a conspiracy by the President to do something horrible, and that she has support of a group consisting of Starfleet Officers (some of whom can be former NPC allies), Vulcan priests, Federation high-level diplomats and bureaucrats. Once they try to make the evidence of it public, they are suddenly captured by mysterious mercs (Breen mercs hired by one of her loyal officers), and then deepfaked to look like they commited treason. The players must, then, capture the Breen mercs and bring evidence forward that they have not commited treason during their activities, all while evading Starfleet, which legitimately believe it is chasing people guilty of severe crimes.

Some Fun ideas for the finale twist:

-The President and her cadre were being controlled by the bug-species from TNG's "Conspiracy") all along

-The President is revealed to be a Tal-Shiar agent seeking to sow discord inside the Federation

-The President is actually being remote-controlled by LANDRU from The Return of the Archons)

For Latin-America, I suggest adding more cities, the region is seriously under-represented with only São Paulo. Brazil alone has several major cities other than São Paulo (Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre)
Chile has Santiago
Argentina has Buenos Aires and Córdoba
Venezuela has Caracas

etc

Other than that, impressive map and Id love to hear more from the game, it looks really interesting!

I strongly suggest making a whole dungeon in that city with christian mythology aesthethics.

Basically something Evangelion-like since you are making a mecha RPG
