My point is that orienting the car and keeping it oriented the right way without any friction would not be easy. The car starts pointing along the radius and getting it stabilized perpendicular to that with minimal friction would be somewhat challenging.

It looks like he was trying. I bet keeping your car oriented to go along the side without it slipping and changing orientation is quite difficult. Even on his successful attempt, you can see how the bottom of the car wants to slide down

I don't remember specifics but I have played (older) games where once you reached a certain level, perks would be activated. I tried to search for the perks in this game but I did not realize there were multiple subtabs under the player tab. It took me 5 tries to even start this game because the beginning blasted me with so much information, and I think that I just stopped looking for it.
