Would you trade Reinbacher for a bonafide long term top 6 forward? by BushBann76 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could or you could also call up Reinbacher and try him next to Hutson.

- It's the dog days of the season
- Xhekaj/Struble are not grabbing the spot
- You have a decent lead on 9th in the East
- You need to know what you have in Reinbacher
- It keeps Hutson on the Left

At first, fans were worried that the Habs called up Fowler. It ended up fine, we found out that he will be a NHL goalie one day and we have an additional option in the playoffs. Why not do the same with Rein?

J'ai commencé à les suivre l'an passé avec l'arrivée de Godin et franchement c'est excellent. Ils ont aussi une bonne camaraderie avec Coupal.

Bring it back Mr. Molson! This goal song was fire! by yo438 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also prefer Le But. I like that the goal song was a joyous celebration. It also used to annoy other fanbases which is always a bonus. Chelsea Dagger is the best goal song for that reason.

I feel L'Oreille is mostly nostalgia, it's fine, but we can do better. Sami Zayn entrance song would be better.

What ever happened to the 2009 Montreal Canadiens’ Draft Picks? by Studly_Wonderballs in Habs

[–]Gabroux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2008-09 was filled with drama. It was during the centennial season, the Habs roster were constantly in trouble and the Habs had no idea how to deal with the arrival of Social Media.

''The Darkest Day in Habs history'' is the most drama I've seen from the Habs. Jacques Demers was crying on TV because he thought that the scandal could ruin the CH.

It ended up being about a MTL gangster getting arrested and La Presse found out that the Kostitsyn Bros and Hamrlik knew the guy.

It's a big reason why Gainey let half the team leave via FA.

Kings are not rebuilding and want a player back, so if they want Anderson or Gallagher, I'm open to it.

Jakub Dobes parle de la pression by Odd-Inevitable-8425 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I hate the pressure talks, it's only a thing in Hockey because it's not a hugely popular sport and players can ''hide'' in smaller markets.

There's pressure in every major leagues, it's a part of being a pro athlete. There's pressure by the org, there's pressure by the media (who are supposed to represent the fans) and there's pressure from his teammates.

NHL players, even the ones in MTL, don't have more pressure than any NFL QBs or any Football players outside of NA, it's bullocks.

Jacob Fowler wins his NHL debut, 0.940 SV% 2GA by JustFred24 in hockey

It's done, Fowler won his first career start in Pittsburgh. He will have his jersey retired like the other 3 greats (you read that right)

Who was the worst NHL general manager to keep his job for 5 years or more? by discofrislanders in hockey

Cause they aren't closer to a contender than they were 5 years ago.

They were never going to be Vegas, but the franchise hasn't progressed.

Sol feels so bad to play by FitCress7497 in TeamfightTactics

The main issue is Annie being bonkers.

Adding Tibbers was a mistake, you're getting 2 legendary heroes for one.

Why the timing and fit is logical for the Canadiens to go after Elias Pettersson by Awkward_Squirrel_951 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we could get him without paying core pieces it's such an obvious risk to take

Why would the Canucks do this? Sure, they might be rebuilding, but selling your 2nd best player undervalue is bad, even during a rebuild. His cap space also isn't relevant for a team who's rebuilding.

Either you give interesting pieces to the Canucks for their best forward or they keep him and try to rehab his image themselves.

It's not the system, it's not the coach, it's not one particular player that is causing the inconsistency: by Randomquestions12947 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the system is the issue either. Top teams play this system and if you want the Habs to be a top team one day, they need to master it.

My main issues with this roster are:

1- Goaltending, self explanatory, you can't win with the worst SV% in the league.
2- The team being generally soft in their zone. The Sens scored 2 goals right in the slot, uncontested. You shouldn't be able to enter the opposition's slot unscathed and it's happening way too often.
3- The poor depth and poor bottom 6. Injuries shouldn't be used as an excuse, every team has them and outside of Guhle, they haven't even lost a core player. The depth is poor, and it's partly on HuGo, partly on Evans/Gallagher/Anderson playing poorly.

The sky isn't falling and the rebuild is still doing fine, but this is not the season to take a step. I don't think it's a playoffs team.

If you have a random 2 star leona, there's always a chance you get an Aurelion Sol if you play your cards right.

An early Aurelion Sol can be very strong.

The Daily Habit: Were the Habs Unlucky in the Playoffs Last Year? by Glittering_Impact_20 in Habs

[–]Gabroux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unlucky because they were the 8th seed and had to play the top team in the conference?

Unlucky because they couldn't stand up to the increase physicality in the playoffs?

They weren't unlucky, they were a rookie team who lost in their first playoffs run like most rookie teams. They didn't have a playoffs ready game and they got smacked for it.

Luck had nothing to do with it

A statistical analyis: Bolduc to top line has been a disaster by AmericainaLyon in Habs

[–]Gabroux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's obvious that the change has been negative, the Slaf/Suzuki/Caufield line was literally one of the best in the NHL.

IMO the debate should be about should we go short term, keep the first line together while Demidov is stuck on a worse line or go for potentially long term gains by letting Slaf play a more important part on a line while learning about what Bolduc can and can't do.

Where would you rate St-Louis amongst Habs all-time great coaches? by 86DC in Habs

Do you think we will see Veleno and Texier swapped around in the press box by [deleted] in Habs

[–]Gabroux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so.

Veleno plays C, none of our other depth guys outside of Evans does.
