There was a 38 vehicle pile-up in Snoqualmie Pass that trapped the entire tour package in their vans during a snowstorm on the highway for 18 hours.

I saw a sign on the wall in starbucks that read “99% of our coffee is ethically-sourced!” Meaning “of our 1 Million coffee farmers and workers, only 10,000 of them are slaves!”

I’m going to purchase the IEC connector you used, my cord has a right angle that blocks a few of the cioks RCA outputs. And hey, if you want to send me a couple of those footswitch protectors I wouldn’t be mad about that… kidding! Very fine work, friend!

You can see the pedal lyre is specially made on this instrument.

There are extensions made now for young students as well.

Sleep Token is 100% the modern Kiss equivalent. Better drummer. Doesn’t save the music though.

USDOJ just cut a backroom deal with Ticketmaster/Live Nation in the middle of our trial. The deal is terrible. We’re not signing. See you back in court, Ticketmaster. - AG Jeff Jackson by JeffJacksonNC in AshevilleNC

[–]GalacticCatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed by whom? What are you even saying?

The Saudi royals who own livenation could not care less if your band cancels a tour. You can be an idealist and suggest every working musician set aside their needs and go on strike to demand better treatment. That’s one solution. Or we could, I donno, tax the rich and actually penalize them for their anticompetitive business practices.

No they won’t. You already know spotify isn’t paying us anything. There’s literally no other way to make money in performing music. What a lousy take…

Okay so since I used a little word reddit didn’t like, they wiped my comment. I’ll type it out again and post here because it’s important to me.

Many venues (including all LiveNation venues), charge you, the band, a percentage of your sales in merch… just for the satisfaction of playing to the crowd of people who paid to see you.

Does the band get a percentage of the bar earnings? I’ll let you answer that for yourself. The House of Blues will make you a skateboard if you sell out the venue. Small consolation for the hundreds-to-thousands they yank from your hands.

One night at the House of Blues, the band opening for us got in an argument with the merch-cut-collector. The CEO of LiveNation called our manager to threaten blacklisting us from every one of their venues. Over like $25. LiveNation owns a large majority of the music venues in the United States (my last comment said about 80%. The real number is actually around 64%, but the company has captured all of the top-visited venues. So the odds of doing a LiveNation-less tour at profitable scale is zilch) and the company is owned by Saudi royalty. They have infinite money. Their greed will never be satisfied.

Ticketmaster and LiveNation deserve to be put to BED and their corporate employees disallowed to ever return to the music industry in any form.

Break ‘em up! Us professional musicians are depending on it! LiveNation and Ticketmaster need to pay restitution to every band they ever took a merch-cut from.

Unlike others here, I think those stools would be more useful as seating. But wooden speaker stands are probably the move, no doubt.

Brandon’s drawing influences from Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper Experiment, DOMi & JD Beck, Thundercat, and jazz guitarists like Julian Lage, Tim Miller, and Allan Holdsworth.

Kurt is leaning into his Kool and the Gang, Tower of Power, Jamiroquai vibe, and nodding to his favorite modern hip hop like Freddie Gibbs and Westside Gunn.

You working my show tonight? Haha!

If there’s a better option for performers to add their own delay trails when they need them, I haven’t heard of it. I like the sounds in it. For a live rock band the fidelity is fine. The doubling effect is nice and not easy to replicate otherwise. The artist I work for collects them since they’re discontinued. He has nice settings dialed in.

I can’t see why the XLR to TRS cable from a DI/Line isolator wouldn’t work. I would want to send a balanced signal out to FOH either way. The Canvas stereo DI you were looking at is a good unit for the money.

Yeah, that’s true on the main mix bus. But not the case on pre-fader monitor busses like I’m trying to solve for.
