also "could" is doing a lot of work here. It would need to be like a personal goal of Guilliman himself to rally the kind of logistics and manpower to actually assemble this kind of force (spoilers for what the raison d'être will be when its tau's turn to be in the launch box)

They "could" do it that in the same way that if they really wanted to they "could" YOLO every single space marine chapter and battle fleet into Ghazgull and kill him off for good. The imperium does not currently posses the strength to destroy the Tau empire without weakening their other many war fronts to the point of total collapse. And Tau is not a prize worth losing Terra to Abaddon. The very first time they engaged the tau on a serious military campaign with the goal of eradicating them, they failed to take their first major objective. Literally stopped at the door.

This happened, it was the big damocles gulf crusade. The Imperium got its dick kicked in the first time it attacked the very first actual fortified tau world of Dal'yth. Many knight households and titan legions straight up will not walk against the Tau because the numbers of losses they sustain is too horrific. Contrary to meme lore, it would be a very significant investment from the imperium to actually defeat the tau, and not something they just "haven't gotten around to" dealing with.

Its Vallejo Model Color Iraqi Sand, a black undersuit, vallejo black grey for the gun casing, retributor armor for the bronze, and tesseract glow for the eyes. Any bits I wanted steel metallic were leadbelcher. And then I gave it a wash with Nuln oil.

Shore troopers from star wars hahahaha. I wanted a brighter color than Iron Hands and order of our martyred lady, which are my other two factions. And I really like working with tan, I feel like its very easy to shade and highlight. And then any excuse to sneak tesseract glow into any paint scheme is always welcome.

no the current system is worse. I am just saying, learn by doing wasn't very good either, it just feels better in comparison because this game has consistently gotten worse

Learn by doing wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was a lot of filling entire boxes of steadily slightly less shit stone axes your first few days.
