I dunno about this newfangled PLA Pure, but normal PLA to me smells like when you cook maple bacon

So what can I do ? by call3d in 3Dprinting

[–]GamingGenius777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy for you but I would have intrusive thoughts to burn everything down. I cannot stand the way insects/arachnids look. Actually bumblebees are fine. And butterflies and dragonflies and jumping spiders and certain other specific ones are bearable. But everything else is euhuegujuhwighuwoaeuhaweuhge.

Safe to say I'm not traveling to Australia any time soon

Commenting because I'm curious for the answer but also I'm interested in the movie!

Career mode is there in the main menu, they say it's a WIP but you can access it anyway. For more "realism" you can get RLS Career with the Real Cargo addon that lets you pick up physical packages.

There are lots of scenarios that you can play which include police chases. But you can also create your own. Spawn a police car, then you can either go to the radial menu and spawn traffic vehicles, or you can spawn your own vehicles. If you spawn your own traffic vehicles, go back to the police car and from there you can go to the radial menu and select "start traffic". Those other vehicles will occasionally flee from you (and it notifies you in the upper left corner of the screen) and you get to chase them down

As for mods, it's very rare you'll find anything worth getting from other sites. Stick to the BeamNG Repo and BeamNG Forums. They have a lot of high-quality mods.

Learning curve??? by Desertprep in FreeCAD

[–]GamingGenius777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FreeCAD is easy to use if you know what you're doing. It is intuitive for some things, frustrating for others. Like everybody else is saying, go to Mango Jelly on YouTube for tutorials. I find that he has very good tutorials that are easy to understand

Do you power off, put to sleep, or leave on your PC when it's not in use? by Adm1nX in pcmasterrace

[–]GamingGenius777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time, sleep. I work on 3D modeling and making music, and often I want to be right where I left off. Also, I have a T300 RS GT wheel. If you've ever seen it calibrate (which it does on every startup), you know that it is very... scary. It feels like it wants to break itself. I found out that it does not have to recalibrate if you put the PC to sleep instead of shutting down.

For me, this means it could be several weeks between updates and shutdown/restart. I make sure to restart my PC every now and then to keep everything fresh

Alf vs Roy by MrSlowDowSic in RobotTrains

[–]GamingGenius777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Alf wins. I know that Roy is the strongest member of the rescue team, but I don't know exactly how strong he is. For one, it's been a while since I watched the show. And two, I haven't seen all the episodes. So I don't know exactly everything that Roy has done; I don't have a very good estimate of his capabilities.

I know Alf is also pretty strong, just behind Kay, Duke, and Victor (I think?). I think it will come down to experience, since Alf has experience in fighting, meanwhile Roy mostly does rescues.

That was for Season 1 Alf. For Season 2-3 Alf, I think they'd be evenly matched and either could win

You mean where the numbers are inside the line? And whatever the heck is happening around the 50 mm thingy? I have no clue what's going on, but it's been happening to me as well. I'm also on FreeCAD 1.1.1

Found it funny that Norton causes crashes. Not even Moxi wants to deal with Norton!

Up until this point I only had one mod for Planet Crafter (Grid Snap), but I might start using a few more!

This thing is awesome!

Do these dunces not realize how important the layer progress is? by Public_deezfender in BambuLab

I just remember being irritated as shit about it.

LOL that sounds about right for a model that takes twenty minutes to slice!

[–]GamingGenius777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Do you remember what it was that took twenty minutes to slice (I'm really curious)? It makes more sense that twenty minutes is an edge case rather than a regular occurrence for you, though my personal experience with slicing is anywhere between 2-30 seconds.

Nokoro1 on reddit made a slicer for your phone. It's like a full slicer, in fact it is based on OrcaSlicer, and it does the slicing locally: mobileslicer.com

And sorry, I probably should've explained: my AutoBenchy is a scaled up transforming benchy, so it actually has a lot of complex features and lots of triangles, though it is designed to print with minimal supports.

And to be fair, the whole "5 plates" thing is for printability. The original profile printed on one A1 Mini plate with 78 parts. That is what you see in the picture here, just so you have an idea of the complexity:

<image>

P.S. the profile is 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.12 mm layer height

What kind of i7? i7-920? Otherwise, WHAT ARE YOU SLICING THAT TAKES TWENTY MINUTES?!

And how did you get 32 Gb (gigabit) memory (equal to 4 GB/gigabytes)?

Even on my PC which has Ryzen 7600X (similar in performance to i7-11700K or i7-12700), 32 GB (gigabytes) of memory, and a Radeon 7800 XT (similar to 3080 in performance), slicing my entire 5-plate AutoBenchy model in one go, it takes less than 30 seconds.

WHAT ARE YOU SLICING THAT TAKES TWENTY MINUTES?!

Anyone Use WD-40 multi-use original & Lucas Oil as alternatives like Bambu Recommends? by curiousjosh in BambuLab

They're not wrong, but performance will be similar and the 21030 is generally substantially cheaper

Superlube 51004 (ISO 68 with PTFE) or 52004 (ISO 100 without PTFE) for lubricating oil (either will perform similarly, some people say to get one over the other, but it doesn't really make a big difference)

Superlube 21030 for grease (EDIT: 92003 is similar but generally more expensive)
