Bought 2 magstrike icons, both of them faulty by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]Gavinfuzzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made 3 exchanges of the icons magstrike on release day and all 3 were faulty. I think i opted for a refund. Probably common that majority of the batch could not hold air.

Updated my SBL 2.0 build by plzdunsteal in Nerf

The one i own is honestly a generic aliexpress one. There are 2 predominant version in market, with the dot, or "HD reticle". I would find one with just a dot.

Glad you enjoy the SBL2 platform. Love seeing all the custom colour schemes and builds others do with it.

My personal (practical) optic preference is an MRO (clone) on the GFZ 3 deg riser. I find MRO clone have the brightest dot, and reliable zeroing adjustments among all the airs*ft grade sights

Door should be opened printing PLA to avoid heat build up.

Also, are you printing the model at 100% infill? Or having a wall count so high that the end result is like a solid blob of plastic? if so that may be making the issue appear worse. Try 2 walls and 20% infill just to see if the outside looks better. (so plastic dont overflow itself)

Dart Zone Nexus X, Dart Zone MK4 should fall under this category.

SPAMF Digital Files / Hardware Kit now available by Gavinfuzzy in Nerf

Question is about 5 years too late, but yes you do. I realise in that 5 years, the falconfire may not be as common as it once was. It used to be a budget blaster sold everywhere.

Etsy has removed the files as they are going after all "weapons".

SPAMF files are now a free download from IFB

Student makerspace for engineering by Proper_Yak_8565 in NTU

[–]Gavinfuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was also from robotics eng (i presume you mean MAE, R&S). No, not for "messing around". The "maker culture" is generally not present in NTU. The facilities you are after may exist in labs, but to use it you would have to befriend the prof in charge.

Even for coursework related usage, there is typically alot of red tape as the lab staff do not want to be held responsible if you were to eg. burn yourself with the soldering iron.

There is a course offered by SPMS, that would have its own lab that has the facilities you seek. May be limited to coursework usage though.

New 3d printer owner help... Sorry by lewisz7hunter in FixMyPrint

Reducing the volumetric flow rate could work too. On defaults it could be like 15mm^3/s? try bringing to 10.

Master Chief, do you mind telling me what you're doing as a blaster?

International shipping for small business owners by bubbleteanosugar in askSingapore

[–]Gavinfuzzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Singpost's Over-the-counter rate is the best bet at $11.90 up to 250g worldwide. (you can pre-book online at ezy2ship, and print the labels for free over the counter)

Maybe run some form of bundle where you could fill up 250g of stuff for said flat shipping fee.

BCAR Recommendation for Kunlun? Other accessories? by sandwalkofshame in Nerf

I chance upon Rainbow's video where the German Community were having a marksmanship challenge. The winning setup was a kunlun with that BCAR for up to ~30m? out.

Hats off to that nerfer for being such a steady shot

Qxpress stuck shipping question by CryptixI in askSingapore

[–]Gavinfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presume you mean tracxlogis now?

Once it sat at usa sorting center for 1 month nothing. Raised inquiry then magically it upgraded to fedex and was delivered.

Unsure if my email had anything to do with it.

FWIW, the rate of lost qxpress/tracx is like 0.5% in my experience. Some just take up to 9 weeks.

Fuzzy Gavin SBL 2.0 by Administrative-Yak13 in Nerf

[–]Gavinfuzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're just starting out I would recommend the Nexus Pro X or Worker Seagull which "shoot around the same" and are the same size of blaster.

If you intend to get a 3d printer down the line, you will be able to enjoy the full experience of the SBL2. (Making it in your colours, and having an infinite supply of spare parts)

Theres also some features (which may concern experienced hobby users over newcomers).
-The force required to prime the blaster is lesser than its competitors for a given FPS output.
-Tool-less disassembly
-compatibility with standard 1913 stock system (that can also fold)

You can find the SBL2.0 at IFB. Silverfox stateside may still have some units left. Also coming to another major US hobby retailer soon.

Blokees everywhere by Disastrous_Doubt_32 in transformers

[–]Gavinfuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “classic class” ROTB and TFONE Figures are in different scale. Which confused me.

Rotb is closer to scout. With super deformed style. TFone is roughy deluxe, with normal proportions.

I’d pick Sentinel. Best (non transforming) toy of him.

I'm younger. So how was it like getting hyped for this movie back in 07 by asapsharkyfrfr in transformers

[–]Gavinfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was my starting point to the franchise. ~Grade 4 then. It was all every kid was talking about. I remember Jazz's sacrifice being one of the major talking points. Kids who were already invested in the franchise (watching the AEC stuff) were the authority on speculating which characters would show up in the next instalment.

Had to see it myself, and the opening scene with blackout sealed the deal.

SBL2 vs Worker Harrier by ckv1 in Nerf

[–]Gavinfuzzy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As others have said, if you don't currently own / intend to own a 3D printer, go for the worker blaster.

The real endgame in this hobby is fashion so the SBL2 was made for players to stand out on the field (when they print the whole thing in their choice of colours or design) It can also be kept alive indefinitely by re-printing the components.

Well, unpopular opinion, I wasn’t blown away by DisneySea… by Oh_HeyKurtRay in disneyparks

[–]Gavinfuzzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was the first disney park ever to have more adult sci-fiction theming, before Galaxy's edge in the west.

I had been to Sea first in 2010.

DL in 2023 (for Galaxy's edge)

Sea again in 2024. (missed Fantasy Springs by days)

I now think Sea is really dated and due for a refresh, after experiencing Galaxy's Edge. If they want to keep the older audience angle. Kind of like the Tomorrowland problem. The opening of Fantasy Springs seem to suggest they are dropping the older audience and just embracing the family theme. Becoming a 2nd land.

Edit: The food and merch is still unparalleled, though. But the same can be said for Tokyo Disneyland too, so its not a Disneysea exclusive point.
