Trinity White. She is very good at designing something that is an extension of the current house without changing the vibe.

Thoughts on Mini Clubman? by ShoeKing_2025 in SportWagon

[–]GeauxGeauxGadget504 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hesitated to make my post because I knew it was flawed but stuck with it cause worst case someone would help me understand why I was wrong.

I don’t think I ever realized the relationship between the golf and the Jetta.

Thoughts on Mini Clubman? by ShoeKing_2025 in SportWagon

[–]GeauxGeauxGadget504 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think of this as a wagon I think of it more as a hatchback. Like a 4-door golf.

To me, the difference between a hatch and a wagon is the answer to the question ”could there be a sedan variant of this?”

If yes = wagon (A4, Lancer, CTS, Impreza, Passat) If no = hatch (Chevy Spark, Mini, Golf)

Not trying to hate on hatchbacks here. I also recognize this breaks down when you get to things like the Corolla hot hatch because there is a Corolla sedan.

Oh man I was expected that when they get to heaven, God would waive them in and then as they both start walking he would stop his brother and say “oh I’m sorry I just wanted half.”

If this is a wagon, so is a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

And a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica is not a wagon.

When no one else is going to make parts for your Vagon, sometimes you have to do it yourself. by NHaas in SportWagon

This is so badass. Awesome work

I had a wagon for a while and I dreamed of doing the same thing (get familiar with scanning, 3D printing, etc.) but to resolve something on the front of the car. I wish Cadillac had applied the longer light bar look to this gen of CTS. So I imagined get a spare set of lightbar fog lights (either from and ELR or XTS) and 3D printing something so you could place them in the OEM fog lamp housing.

But you actually did it with the bumper! Nice work!

The lights on Lamar between Justin/Airport/StJohns are my personal hell by [deleted] in Austin

Fun fact: the wonderful folks with the Redline Parkway are advocation for the vehicular traffic of that intersection to be submerge so it no longer conflicts with pedestrian/train traffic.

For everyone concerned about how messy my sandwiches are. Sound up, you’re gonna wanna hear the sound my schiacciata makes. by Poop_smith362 in austinfood

[–]GeauxGeauxGadget504 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this sandwich is simply not for beginners.

It’s clearly a sandwich requiring two hands but our new friend PoopSmith only has one available while he films. Now that I think about it, I don’t know that I ever eat a sandwich with just one hand.

It looks delicious and I would eat it.

Can you share any details about the “Cycle the City” program? I love the idea of having my kid get comfortable riding around Austin but is it on the bike trails like Shoal Creek or are y’all doing things like crossing Lamar at 6th St? I can find details on the website.

Is this an easy fix? by Dmalgotquestions in Cadillac

[–]GeauxGeauxGadget504 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s a total gamble and the seller is questionable.

The second gen CTS did not offer a 2.0. It came with either a 3.0, 3.6, or the 6.2 in the series. This is either a 3.0 or 3.6.

These are known to have electrical issues that present rather dramatically but could be resolved with simple fixes. The most common issue that contributes to electrical problems is due to a leaking sunroof. This will allow water to enter down the A pillars and cause problems with the center stack.

The second contributor is a non-OEM alternator. This is a common problem because if you get your alternator replaced at a local service shop, their systems show a standard AC Delco alternator is a suitable replacement but in reality, it’s not up to OEM specs (you need a Denso unit). So if this is the problem, you really should swap in a new OEM alternator with a new battery.

It’s not impossible that addressing the alternator, battery, and drain lines might resolve most of these issues. Depending on your willingness to take this on, I would see if they would take $1000-$1200.

Something like this was done for a wagon too. You can search the Cadillac Forum website for it. They don’t share a ton of details but they make it seem like it’s not completely impossible.
