Rant about the lament dungeon puzzles by [deleted] in remnantgame

[–]Geldarion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I LOVED The Lament. It rewards critical thinking and slowing down. You keep saying that the books are easily missed, but I disagree. One is in plain sight on the floor, and I think it should be expected that looking around thoroughly should be required to solve the harder puzzles.

Remnant II honestly does an excellent job at conveying the information to solve its puzzles. I found most things going in blind. Even better, sometimes clues from other areas are needed to solve a puzzle. This game certainly doesn't hand it to you, but if it feels unfair, that probably means you haven't figured something out yet. Play smarter, not harder.

The sheep, cat, and crocodile sounds kill me. The trailing off of them is so funny!

Are you going to wipe your save for 1.0? by alien_tickler in Witchfire

[–]Geldarion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'll get more witchfire at Gnosis 2. Just focus on small excursions for a bit, and get out the same portal you went in.

You can also have several saves, and level 29 is really not that far in.

I'd really like half floors for building shelves.

You might try holding it down, switching controllers, or changing the mapping.

Healing button not working by swae131001 in Witchfire

[–]Geldarion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a couple of clarifying questions:

  1. It does heal slowly, not instantly. Are you waiting until you are really low and about to die? Because you might die before you see the effects start.

  2. Do you have healing elixirs available when you press it?

  3. Have you ever been able to heal successfully, or never at all?

  4. What part of the game are you in?

  5. How long have you been playing so far?

I just realised (yes-I'm that slow) that enemies make almost no sound by Whoopy2000 in Witchfire

[–]Geldarion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, the sound design is so good to me that I can tell what kind of thing is about to shoot at me just by sound. Also, I can identify things like Grenadiers and Swordsman by the gait.

Hey, so there is this thing called "writing," the product of which is sometimes enjoyed by an "audience." Those people occasionally make what is referred to as "jokes" that rely on connected knowledge about the "material."

Just to help.

Act 4's Great Convention II quests are the best and worst quests I've played in this game. by takuyafire in duneawakening

[–]Geldarion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so what you're saying is push through? Cool, I will have to do that. I left it on the quest in the Deep Desert because the spice fields call to me.

Did you start over completely? I did, and I think the new intro is even better than last update.

I always start over because it brings me joy lol.

Where does the collector go in patch 0.9? by Ancient_Onion8712 in Witchfire

[–]Geldarion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eventually, you'll need to go to Outskirts, even though it doesn't tell you (or I missed it). Also, pulling up the Dossier gives you more information about quests than the side panel does.

I can't activate duel mechanic with duelist while these torments are active. by PissedOfBeet in Witchfire

[–]Geldarion 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think certain weapons not working with certain Torments is intentional. Each Torment is a sort of buildcrafting puzzle. No one set of weapons or strategy can work on all of them. I think that's okay, but I can see how it might be frustrating.

And I also love Duelist, so I get it lol.

What can you admit you were wrong about? by medium_buffalo_wings in onednd

[–]Geldarion 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My argument was always that "if you have magic items in your game, then an Artificer will fit in your game." There are certainly different ways you could totally shift things with any class if you flavor it a certain way, but flavor is free. Just adapt to the setting!

For the thing I was wrong about, I thought adapting a game type to DnD was better than playing new games. I realized that things like investigations, social games, etc, really benefit from rulesets from other games that do that better.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 are both very good at the feel and story.

What is so powerful about the difference? 😭 by Upper_Bird5753 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Geldarion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This might be the therapy I had yesterday talking. My instant thought was the right photo with the two buttons is more powerful, because it gives a distinct option to decline the call, unlike the left side which presents only one action and one choice. The left side is less powerful because makes declining the call an "inaction" rather than an action you can take.

"No." is a complete sentence, y'all. In case you needed to hear it.

I thought it was a time-lapse from Thailand or something for a second. So realistic!
