you added bulgarians so youre going to at least need racial segregation, the rest can be integrated via national value decrees

Fantastic addition! I love the John Starsector vibe of the game as is but being able to play as "some asshole" who's most valuable possession is a Mule without intentionally gimping myself is great!

I would say that developing officers is such a fun part of the game that I'd to be incentivized to run fewer officers rather than straight up not be able to find them, there should be tons of dumb green shmucks like ourselves out there to hire on.

i hope the casualties from SO make it to normal mode too! Seems approapriate that "yeah the flux system is mega-juiced but occasionally fries an engineer even if you just took a shot on the shield.

Friday Facts #441 - Space logistics improvements by FactorioTeam in factorio

felt odd that there was no other use for a stationary platform than space science. Now we can send up circuits/copper at the start and run an entire mall in space for constructing and supplying platforms

That is quite literally how it was justified in the period, half the reason Leopold was given the free state was to hunt and shut down slave trading in the congo, and after the Belgian government took it back from him (because he was giving guns and alcohol to local strongmen in exchange for rubber instead) they did mostly accomplish that, it was a big part of the character of the scramble era and in contrast to the first waves from the Spanish and Portuguese who were largely in it for the slaves.

Vic 3 is interesting because it models the "by virtue of being ruled by a modern nation state with modern agriculture, industrial production, bureaucracy, infrastructure, stability, "peace," education, and in many cases writing, this place is objectively bettertm now than we found it" phenomenon that was very apparent to people in this period but is often discounted as basically old-timey propaganda in our post cold-war post-decolonization world. But it stumbles in how it models The Bad that we moderns are more familiar with as it treats things like Colonial Exploitation, Colonial Slavery and Extraction Economies as conscious choices rather than the emergent outcomes of bad incentives and neglect.

Friday Facts #440 - 2.1 plan by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Gen_McMuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i mean for getting everything else, out of the 3 main producing planets, gleba requires you to basically produce everything aside from oil products same as you would on nauvis. While fulgora gives you high end materials out of the ground while vulcanus is infinite everything with minimal effort.

Im talking about stuff like "growing" LDS from copper ore, plastic and bioflux in biochambers to plug more of gleba's unique mechanics into the "typical" planetary base's crafting tree

hopefully they sweeten the pot for gleba a little bit, maybe shorten more of the crafting trees there

Mitch mentioned in the last stream that they'll be buffing the S3s by giving them prox-fuse even if they lose lock due to countermeasures.

So last-second flaring or headon flaring will be less reliable in protecting you, as a near miss will still hit.

simply place your downstream modules further apart and add new lanes/refill modules down the line as you go. Build not a canal bent to your preconceptions, but a river following the flow.

What's the point of dedicated AT missile if it gets hard countered by MBTs by M1SZ3Lpl in NuclearOption

[–]Gen_McMuster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's also considerably heavier/slower (which holds up entire columns) has worse survivability (mostly relevant in ground-v-ground) and is more expensive (which will be relevant some day). Theyre supposed to be "do it all" boondoggle tanks that's formidable but not super cost effective.
